That's what I was hoping but mine are always in the back under the hide against the tank wall. I thought I had read that it should always be close to at least 80* so I was going to try and make it around 77 in the front and approx 85* in the back. I was concerned 72* was to low. Thx..That's what I did. I was just concerned because I thought maybe the copper should be against it. I realized the pad was putting Styrofoam against it. (you tube to the rescue-LOL)

Do you mean you put the copper side against the tank? I don't know what you mean by pad. I am very new to this.

I just got my Ultratherm heat tape to put on the back of my tank. What side goes against the glass? The side with the copper on the edge or the flat solid black side.

Well after calibrating all night, Zoo Med is 5% under and Nat'l Geographic is 5% over. At least now I have an idea! Thx everyone for the help!

I was just hoping that when you buy something it gives the right information. I have no idea what my humidity is. I do have both in a sealed tight container with some salt for the night. Guess I will have an idea in the morning. This forum has saved me quite a few times since I got these little guys!
