Re: Crab going in and out of shell
I'm not sure how long I have had him. And no he doesn't have those signs. I feed them a variety of fruits and veggies, its always different. And protein is shrimp, chicken, dried mealworms, stuff like that. The gauges are located one on the ground and one mounted on the side of the tank. When I do m...

Re: Crab going in and out of shell
Yea currently he is just sitting outside the shell. But he is in a Iso tank. And when he first went out of his shell and was sitting in the pool his shell was a thinner one. But I didn't put it in the iso tank with him because it was way to small for him. I put some turbos in there. But I guess I wi...

Re: Crab going in and out of shell
I haven't seen him eat lately. But yea I really don't know what is wrong. Earlier today he again went out of the shell, soaked himself in the water, then went back in. And when he goes back in the shell he doesn't move at all.

Crab going in and out of shell
So last time I posted I had a hermit crab completely out of his shell and soaking in water. This time its a little different. So for almost a week I've noticed one of the crabs sitting in the freshwater pool. I found that odd, because none of my crabs ever really do that. So I kept a eye on him for ...

Re: Crab was out of shell-possible fighting, help :/
Yea the humidity is at 80%, for some reason it had gone down some, but I got it back up. Also I was planning on buying more sand for them soon, I used to have 12 inches in there, but somehow it got so low. I have seen people keep a lot more hermit crabs in smaller spaces as you said, and I have been...

Seems to be doing ok. Hes actually one of my bigger hermit crabs, so I've been pretty worried. But hes eating and drinking. I may put him back in the main tank in a day or so if he continues like this.

1. What kind of substrate is used in your tank and how deep is it? -Sand and coconut fiber mixture. 8-9in or so 2. Do you have gauges in the tank to measure temperature and humidity? If so, where are they located and what temperature and humidity do they usually read? -Humidity is usually around 75-...

Crab was out of shell-possible fighting, help :/
So I was laying in bed and kept hearing odd noises coming from the hermit crab tank. I thought I would get up to see what was going on. First I saw one of them climbing the screen lid but then I saw a hermit crab in the salt water pool and he looked odd. I looked closer and all of a sudden he ran an...

Re: Sick hermit crab? Help
I left him alone awhile and there was definitely a smell coming from him. Also it had been several days after he molted and there was no movement at all.

Re: Sick hermit crab? Help
To anyone wondering, the little guy did finally molt, but sadly he passed away last night. He was still in the molting process, and had just eaten the molt. Thanks to those who helped out.

To anyone that was wondering, so far he is still alive. I have been getting him some food and water. I'm hoping he will pull through
