HCA: Hermit Crab Association

I will be going to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina in a few weeks. I am hoping to stock up on shells while I am there, but was wondering if anyone knew of any good shell shops there? I've never looked around really for shells in the past there, but figured would be a perfect time since I am in need of ...

I had posted about the hole in the claw the other day. Well I was doing my daily routine earlier, and I thought I would check up on that hermit crab. Hes been pretty much in the moss pit since I first saw the hole. Well when I picked him up to look at it, I saw this...I freaked out. Idk if I should ...

I was surprised to see him so active and pretty big to be at petsmart. They had some others I was tempted to buy. I may go back soon. Just always hate seeing them in those small containers.

Went to Petsmart today to get a few things, and came home with a new addition lol. The picture doesn't show how bright his colors are, but when I saw him, I just had to get him.

I've been keeping a close eye on them, haven't seen any fights. Hopefully was a one time thing only. The one with the hole in the claw has been in the moss pit since it happened. Seems ok.

Ok, I did hear one of my crabs making noises like a fight was going on the other day. But when I looked in the tank, saw nothing. I guess it was happening underground. Poor guy, I'll be sure to keep a eye on all them. See if I can find the one that did it.

I just checked in the tank, I don't see him right now. May have buried down again or just hidden. When I see him, I'll be sure to get him out and take a picture. But what I can say from what I saw is its a decent size hole, and its blackish, and cracked around it.

I have a big variety of shells for them to choose from. Guess they are just being stubborn lol. Hopefully they will change shells soon.

I have yet to buy the bubblers, still need to. But I'll try putting some towels on the lid to see if that will help. I did put some water over the sand yesterday, and its all dry again today. Ill dump a lot of water in there tonight, hopefully will help, plus the towels.

Its just a screen lid, but yea I'll try doing that also.
