HCA: Hermit Crab Association

from my understanding they are leopard geckos -- I bought some stuff today - but I don't think she was doing very good for them.. and need more help to make a habitat great for them... they are in a 50 gal set up so that is a plus

ok so what kind of substrate? I picked them up - and all she used ever was paper towels on the bottom of the tank....

so what is a safe way? I had rocks in one and shells in the other-- but then they could not submerged -- just walk on the top of the items

when making water dishes - do you make them so they can swim in them? if not why use such deep dishes?

do they only et *live* critters? or is there something that can be bought and stored?

oh and the same with some shells I bought ---- they don't seem to have any shiny stuff on them... just plain shells

so I bought some packaged river rocks (sigh, yes I bought) anyway is there any reason they would not be safe?

I know they will shred some --- but I would like to put live plants in my habitat -- which ones are safe?

never heard of land snails for sale --- *interesting* !! will have to look into them

pretty much anything I feed my parakeets I can feed hermies -- right?

she was asking 60 says she would go 45 - so I already got her to go down... I think the fair here give hermit crabs out -- then when they die .. people want the money back they bought things for to keep them

thanks I have a 20L - was thinking of getting a second set up --- but not sure I would use anything she had with it, but maybe the shells

10 gallon .... course I would use more sand/dirt ....
