Re: Dont want to overcrowd
Yeah after setting up the tank I could kinda tell it may be too small for straws. Space fills up quick!! But I will be getting a 150g this weekend. And if I can find a place for it, I'll set that up. I do believe that's more than enough for straws and E's lol Having PP's first for a while just to se...

Re: Mixed signals about bedding
Thank you so much! Thats so helpful. I have no problem with the crabs mixing it over time, just thought it looked cool, just needed to confirm it was functional as well lol At NCgirl. Yes I agree, they're helpful when you need it, but they can go overboard. Its understandable though as so many peopl...

Mixed signals about bedding
Ok so I set up my 40B today (I'll post pics soon) I'm also on a hermit crab FB group. So anyways, I did one quarter of the tank play sand, and 3 quarters of the tank EE and sand mix. Everyone on FB is telling me I need to mix everything throughout the whole tank and it can't be separated in case the...

Re: The ChelSEA Hotel: UNDER CONSTRUCTION
I have a 40 breeder. And I Just made it up today. I used 8 bricks to do 7" in three quarters of the tank, and then 50 pounds of sand to fill the other quarter. So I'd use 11 bricks to fill 7" in the whole length of the tank. It took a lot more than I expected

Re: Should I get this tank?
I specifically asked if there were any cracks in the glass, he told me no, but if there wasnt some sort of leak somewhere itd be able to hold water. Hopefully gonna pick it up this coming weekend. My lid for my 40B just came in today and its the two separate panel kind. Also it has leftover space fo...

Re: Should I get this tank?
It does have a middle bracket. And nothing has melted. It seems to be in great condition. I guess the guy just wants it gone! I am so excited!!
The dimensions are 48x24x31
Where do I even find a lid for that?
I need a bigger house to fit this!

Should I get this tank?
So I was just scrolling through Craigslist looking at tanks just to see if I would stumble across one. And I found a 150 gallon for $45!!! The drive is about 2 hours away but I dont think you can beat that price! It doesn't come with a stand or anything, and the guy said that it can't hold water. Do...

Re: Dont want to overcrowd
Thanks for the replies!! I do plan on upgrading to a 55-75 gallon next year if it all works out, so overall having 6 crabs of three different species should work, especially if its only for about a year. But I'll go slow about getting the crabs and see how the E's do. I need to do what's best for th...

Re: Size heater!
Oh I thought it was covering all the substrate and 1" above the sub. But since it isnt, the 6x35 will work great!
Thank you for all the replies, I am sure my crabbies will be very happy now :3

Re: Size heater!
Are you able to cut the heater at all to the size you want if they dont sell exact?? And where should I purchase it from? Thanks! So far what I am seeing are 6x35 and 11x35 If I did the 6x35 it wouldnt cover anything above the substrate, and if I were to ever get a large crab he would need even deep...

I am purchasing an ultratherm heater, and I have a 40B tank, I am trying to order it now, so a quick reply is greatl...
