Re: Moving a buried, possibly molting crab

Do you have an emergency that requires moving him? If so , someone on here recommended carefully removing substrate from above him. The leaving a rectangle area and moving the entire area to an ISO tank, being careful not to colapse the tunnels that allow him to breathe. I will try to find the post ...

Re: Sponge

Mine love to eat the natural sea sponge. It has something in it that they need. I read that on this site, however, I have forgotten what it is. Lol They eat as much sea sponge as they do regular food!

Re: Empty iso

If your crab was just molting, I would just mix the substrate to aerate. I keep an ISO tank ready for any unforseen problems. I keep the temp and humidity at good levels, mix up the substrate and add salt water as needed. I use the salt water to moisten all of my substrate to help combat mold and un...

Re: First Crab Question: Can I purchase crabs one by one?

I find food in the fish section of Walmart. I have fish flacks, small red dried shrimp, bloodworms, mealworms. I also keep a mixture of old fashioned oats mixed with unsalted sunflower seeds, flaxseed, Chia seeds and hemp seeds in the fridge and spoon some out daily. I found some dried banana, straw...

Command strips also come made especially for the shower/bathroom. They should work. I have had them in the shower of my RV for 4 years and the hold up shampoo, conditioner, bodywash and shaving creme. Year round. Check Walmart or Amazon. :D

Re: Weird question but thought I'd ask

Yep, too salty. Fresh salmon, on other hand, is fine. I'll even give them canned salmon, rinsed off to get rid of as much salt as possible...they absolutely love the little round vertebrae in the canned version. I am glad to know this.I had never thought that rinsing would be good enough and I thro...

Re: How do I get my temp to keep?

I already have a UTH and I aint convinced about it's glories. Any other ideas/solutions/arguments? You said your UTH is covering the substrate. It should be above the substrate on either the back or side of the tank. If it is being blocked by the substrate, the heat is blocked as well. You can also...

Re: PP? I'm not sure

I had a PP in a painted shell too. He took 2 months to change out of it. I had him 6 shells to choose from and I thought he would never leave that shell. I just kept dipping them in salt water and placing them back. When he changed I gave him the next day to decide if he wanted to go back into it an...
