Re: New Tank and Moving Crabs

I can confirm that assey is not Molting, I saw him peeking out from under the food dish. I think him and Cheesey were communicating, the antennas were wiggling

New Tank and Moving Crabs

Hi I got a new tank (30g) and I’d like to move my hermits in there (I have two). However I’m concerned about my most recent crab, Assey, he hasn’t been active on the surface since we got him About three months ago. I’m pretty sure he’s not mooting because he’s been digging holes like crazy, and some...

Tetra Aquarium Salt safe to use?

Hi! I’m trying to get some salt for my salt water tank- is this brand safe to use?

Tetra Aquarium Salt https://www.walmart.ca/en/ip/tetra-aqua ... 0199568881

If not- any Canadian suggestions? (I don’t want to order online right now)

Plant growing!

So I was misting my crab Q, and I noticed that there was something sprouting! I don't what it is, I was thinking of letting it grow, unless Q decides to eat it http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160427/9696f5c175c4c8ba7dff5c39101dffa8.jpg Q is new, and he's been in the moss pit for most of the time, ...

What do you guys suggest I do with Q (his roommate who is currently in a kritter carrier)?

He's submerged, should i try and move him undisturbed into the main tank, (I'm going to clean it up first tho)

Re: Hermit Crab sick after molting?? *UPDATED, PICTURES NOW*

Sad to say that Bond has passed, I went to change his food, and found him hanging out of his shell, death smell was present

He put up a good fight, and he was a wonderful crab. He will be missed :crabblush:

Re: Hermit Crab sick after molting?? *UPDATED, PICTURES NOW*

HE'S NOT DEAD I REPEAT HE IS NOT DEAD SO, I went to go make him a little coffin, and after it was done, I was filling it with some substrate. So I picked him to, and went to put him in the little box, and I shook him a bit (to see if he would fall out), and i sort of nudged his large pincher to see ...

Re: Hermit Crab sick after molting?? *UPDATED, PICTURES NOW*

So I went to change Bond's food and water, (I was changing the other crabs food and water also), and I noticed he has little white fuzzy patch on his large claw and one the tip of his leg. What is this? I didn't pick him up, i moved him a little so he wouldn't get squished when i put the cocohut bac...

New crab de stressing?

I recently got a new crab and he dug himself under the substrate right away, and he hasn't come up since (its been almost two weeks).

He also had some limbs missing, so could he be molting or just de-stressing? Theres no fish smell.

Crabs taking really long to surface molt

Hi,so my hermit crab Bond was very sick and weak, and myself and other users on here came to the conclusion that he was surface molting. So I made sure the tank was perfect regarding temp and humidity, and I put his cocohut over him so it's dark and some food. It's been about 3 weeks and he hasn't mo...

Re: New crab moving in as one surface molts, what to do?

I was able to put the travel tank in the main tank, I took the cover off too to let the heat and the humidity get into the travel tank.

Bond's doing well, no death smell yet. Hope he's molting fine.
