Re: Heating - Picture, ad hoc solution

Checked with manufacturer. They said that this product is made without creating any vacum. To suggest it can explod e is stupid. It has a designed life span of between 10 & 15 years. But regularly outlasts the aquarium it is placed in. The manufacturer has told me that providing I take precaution to...

Re: normal?

Don't attempt to disturb for at least 8 weeks. Crabs build air pockets around themselves when underground. So Dont worry about leveling out s...

Re: Safe to use during a molt?

My first reaction is no. It could get punctured by you as you place it. Too much localized heat could kill your crab.

Heating - Picture, ad hoc solution

So, discovered heat pad not working. No nearby store, online order nearly 10 days waiting. What to do? http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160425/2c11664d7c8e176b27d18daef93318a0.jpg Had a think. I use an aquarium tank that came with a submersible thermostatic heater. Searched cupboards, found heater....

Re: Sparkling water

You could always build the fibre wall up and over the zip ties, then add an overhang that was smooth on the underside so your hermies couldn't climb on to the top of it. Also, why not attach some small coloured stones to the wall, make it look like a human climbing wall, he armies like colour.[emoji1...

Re: Possibly building a hermit crab tank

Anything that size needs careful planning. Plexiglass can be fixed with batons etc, which themselves will need sealing. You need a sealant between glass and batons (2x4's). Think about what the overall weight may be,you'll need something that supports the tank, substrate, furniture not forgetting the w...
