Well pulled the insulation off, and then put the glass tops back on and used some packing tape to seal up the back edge and stuff because they don't really fit all the way across completely. Temps have been at 87 and humidity 85% for hours now.

Hmm I guess I can remove the insulation for now, I'd rather not lol but it's probably smart to do for now. I'm going to monitor it more today and see what happens. The crabs seem pretty happy, one of the original 2 is out every night changing shells it seems lol. And also the bigger of the new ones ...

Also the hydrometer settled right at 80% and didn't budge just like last time. So it's 5% high. I'm hoping there's just a dry spot in the middle of the tank and the fan will help circulate the humidity. It also could be the high temp is drying it out quicker.

Well I got a little 60 or 80mm fan in there, it doesn't move a ton of air but it's something. I have a nice 120mm fan but can't figure out how to mount that in there in a way that the crabs wouldn't mess with it.

Ok now the humidity is dropping a lot, down to 77% last I looked lol. Maybe last time I did the calibration I didn't leave it long enough. Here is the crab in question. Also about an hour left on my 6 hour calibration and it's currently sitting at 85% so the humidity likely was worse than I even thought considering Everytime I looked in there it was showing like 70-75% which. Means it was more like 60-65%.

Not when it's that low no...my temps have been kind of high though. What's too hot for the crabs? If I open the top though the humidity is even worse.... it gets fogged up after I spray in there. I need to get a dimmer I think for the UTH I thought you could get like a dimmer for a lamp but I can't ...

I'm not sure if it's a problem, basically the reason everyone here recommends 5:1 is because it's a really good balance and keeps the humidity in the tank good and keeps the sand perfectly at sandcastle consistency so the crabs can dig tunnels and such. Also with the 5:1 mix it's pretty good at biod...

Hmm well it looks to me like you put 5 parts eco earth to one part sand lol.

That looks very dark, You should have 5 parts sand to 1 part eco earth or say 5 cups of sand to 1 cup eco earth. He switched into it, the one he came in was D or oval shaped I think. He also is usually up and out in the morning too.
