Re: New to the forum, and building new crabitat.
So the probe for my hydrometer/temp sensor used to be in the front corner of the crabitat away from the UTH, yesterday I moved it to the middle of the tank (both front to back and side to side) so it's just hanging about halfway down in the middle of the tank. Anyawys after moving it there I've noti...

Re: ultratherm heat pad size
I think it depends a lot on your local climate, the temp in your house etc. I have one that goes all the way across the back of my 55g and it keeps it right around 85 or so in there right now. We run quite a bit of AC though, I think we may have to get another heat source for winter though?

Re: New guy here, and some pics of crabs and such.
Ok so snapped a couple more pics of the questionable crab. Unfortunately it was hard to hold him and take the pics so one of them is super blury but the eyes are a bit elongated it seems just not as extreme as the ones shown previously in this thread, I also got a picture of his back so hopefully so...

Re: New guy here, and some pics of crabs and such.
Well, his eyes don't look oval to me. But I don't really know either way lol.
That's a cool idea for the moss. Then I guess I could make the shell shop up there instead.

Re: Hot glue
Yes it's safe, I use high temp hot glue because it sets really firm.

Re: New guy here, and some pics of crabs and such.
Well I think I got something together that I actually like for the moss pit, I pretty much cut both of the plants apart although I kept most of the flower one together I just cut some pieces off as I felt, then I went at it with a hot glue gun and made it look like a nice little tree. I then use the...

Re: New guy here, and some pics of crabs and such.
So I thought the one guy was stuck in the tree maybe as he was still up there this morning, so I set him on the substrate and he's climbing right back up. I guess he's chosen that as his home lol, even though there's not really anywhere to hide up there.

Re: New guy here, and some pics of crabs and such.
You have one E and the rest are PP's. The E needs a species buddy so you might want to look for at least one more. E's need DEEP sub and lots of digging space. Also make sure to feed them more protein and they also kike it a little warmer than what we would usually keep PP's at, but at the higher e...

Re: New guy here, and some pics of crabs and such.
Noway that would fit in a 20g lol. There was a smaller one I believe though. It just barely fits in my 55g with about 10" or so of substrate.

He's currently napping or whatever in one of the leaf patches that's even higher up that that spot.

Yeah they are awesome!
I was thinking about doing something like that as well, but there are so man branches on each one I'm not sure how to make it work. They are silk plants of course, I just don't want it to look bad lol.

Re: New to the forum, and building new crabitat.
I started posting pics over in the picture section but thought I'd give a little update. I've added some climbing things now and still working on one other part that will go to a moss pit. I figured I'd post an updated pic of what it pretty much looks like currently. http://i24.photobucket.com/album...
