Re: New to the forum, and building new crabitat.

Also should mention for the first time ever a couple weeks ago I heard chirps and clicks out of our crabbies. My wife was like "what the heck was that" and I had to explain to her those are the sounds they make. So they must be happy in their home. I thought I read on here that they make noises whe...

Here we go, the tips on his legs are like super sharp and clingy! was surprised lol. He's the smallest one we have, and when he went down he was down to like 1 leg and I think he had his small claw. Man he looks good now!

Re: New to the forum, and building new crabitat.

Just an update! The hermit crab that was in bad shape and went down months ago has re-emerged and is a nice bright blue/red and has all his limbs now! So it seems he successfully molted and is doing well!

Re: New to the forum, and building new crabitat.

So with one of the glass panels propped up by a little thing my humidity has been staying right at 79/80 and temps right around 85. This is awesome, BUT the wood is molding :( I soaked it all in salt water quite a bit before putting it in there. My big oven doesn't currently work so I couldn't bake ...

Re: New guy here, and some pics of crabs and such.

Yeah we came to the same conclusion in my crabitat thread lol. Thanks for the compliments. The blue/white one is down for a molt I think as I haven't seen him in a couple days. It seems like the 2 big ones are living in the same hole as they go into the tree and there is only one hole and they both ...

Re: 55 + 75 gallon builds!

In my 55g I used ~160 ish lbs and 2 eco bricks. I had a 3 gallon mop bucket and prepared teh eco brick in it which was about halfway up the bucket, then I filled the bucket with sand 2 times and then one at the halfway mark to make 5:1. I did this twice and it ended up giving me about 10-11" of subs...

Re: New to the forum, and building new crabitat.

Yeah looks like my heat and humidity issues are good now, been sitting steady ever since I sealed it up like I did so apparently the bubblers are producing enough humidity with the fan. I'm still going to get a better quieter fan for it though, probably a beQuiet fan as I have to order one for somet...

Over here the play sand at home depot was 3 dollars, actually like $2.80. It's crazy lol.
