Molt? Or Death?
Found this in the tank. Of the 6 crabs in the tank, only 2 are above ground. The others have been buried for quite awhile... 4 or 5 months, probably more. Does this look like a molt? Or death? There is no stink, and of the two crabs walking around right now, none will answer my question "Who did thi...

Salt water necessity
In the over 1-year that I've had these 6 hermit crabs, and the tank having both fresh water and salt water, not once have I seen any of the crabs go near it, dip in it, touch it, gargle their mouth out, yada yada yada.
Is the salt water really necessary?

Silicon vs. Hot Glue Gun in water
I had siliconed a bunch of little rocks in a water bowl to make sure the crabs can come out, but after months of use, it seems that the silicon is no longer adhesive. Rocks coming right off. Would a hot glue gun work better for the purpose? Does it stick to plastic better?

Re: New Addition to the Family
Nice. As soon as i move into any residence with a second bedroom I am getting a ball python. They are such cool animals. I can't have one now bc I live in a 1 bedroom and my boyfriend is afraid of snakes :/ Take your boyfriend to a local reptile show. After he sees how docile and cool they are, he ...

Re: Halloween Crabbies
Did a little shoot for the holiday for HCG, and got these awesome little pumpkins from my local pet shop that are made by Exo Terra! (It glows in the dark.) I have one in the Ruggie tank and one upstairs with my baby milk snake. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20171031/b92abff373c1b29d840c3721fc52...

She's a blue-eyed leucistic ball python. Her parents are Mojave Russo x Pastel Lesser. She's two months old, hatched I believe 8/27.

Re: Tank Smell
My tank has an "earthly" smell to it. Not overpowering. My wife says she smells it when she walks into my son's room. I, personally, do not... I only smell it lightly when close to the tank, and much more if I open the top.

Re: Best Hygrometer?
I started using this wireless one for a snake tank about a month ago... and seems to work pretty good. Fairly cheap as well:

Re: Non-Molting Crab Approaching Molting Crab
Keep in mind that crabs tunnels zig zag underground, so it's hard to tell exactly where a crabs tunnel is headed. What size tank do you have? Larger tanks minimize the likeliness of this situation. 10 gallon tank. Soon to be in a 29. Long time no see!! Have you finished your crabitat yet? Almost do...

Non-Molting Crab Approaching Molting Crab
2 crabs went down a little over two months ago. Crab #1 went down first, crab #2 followed a week later (first week of March). About a week ago from today, crab #2 came back up. I think it looks like he's molted... I'm no expert, and this is the first for me, but he does look quite new afterall. Sinc...
