Colors crabs can see
I haven't posted on here in awhile but after having zero luck with a blue nighttime bulb I decided to do a little research and came across this paper. Its an interesting read and might tell us a little more about our mysterious crabby friends :) It will open right into a PDF. https://www.google.com/...

Is it just to give them something to climb? An also, what are the upper level blue thingies...

Last night I noticed that Mango and Birdie were sitting on the edge if the moss pit and had to take a quick pic. http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160909/48980e165bb3ffcbf00b1173356a9b14.jpg I know Mango is probably telling Birdie to hurry and go down since no one else will come out until Birdie is ...

Re: DIY crabitat
I've never done it but am planning to for my lizard once I move into a bigger place. I don't have the links on my phone but if you Google diy chinese water drangon enclosure there are a lot of step by step guides. The heat and humidity is about the same that the crabs need so its a safe comparison.

Re: All these shells
They must be. The majority of my crabs are in shells that hermit crabs aren't supposed to even like. I'm starting to wonder if that one isn't so used to the weird, lop sided weight of the beak that normal shells feel weird to him :? He has plenty of options and I told him I'm done buying new ones......

Re: Help with bubbler doing something wrong
Does the pump have 1 or 2 tubing outlets? If it has 2 outlets then put some tape over the unused outlet and that will build up pressure in the other tube. If it is a single outlet pump try taking the air stone off the side that isn't working and see if you feel air coming out of the tube. Sometimes ...

Re: They like the shells from Joann's
I just bought a $13 bag of shells from Joann's just because it actually had 1 large green turbo in it. I had a 60% off coupon though so it only came to a little over $5...totally worth it, especially since one of my large guys switched into it that night. I was hoping thst maybe one of the other tur...

Re: Help with bubbler doing something wrong
When looking at the T like this one tube goes from the bottom of the T to the pump and then 2 tubes go from each side of the T, one to each pool.

Nope he would be a little PP who I have seen change shells 1 time in the past month just to change right back. I keep telling him that just because they stuck a beak and googly eyes on you that doesn't make you a bird

Re: Prepping for the cold need some advise
I would go with the ultratherm and insulate the back and sides of the tank very well.

All these shells
And apparently none of them are good enough [emoji15] I swear he's going to be in his ugly painted bird shell forever. He checks them out but so far none have met his approval.

Re: Prepping for the cold need some advise
If you use a lamp at a safe distance from the glass lid it will not affect the temperature inside the tank more than a degree or so, if that. Really the only way a lamp will raise the temperature is when it is sitting directly on top of a screen lid.
