I am in the SAME boat with my PP. he just went down for a molt though so hopefully when he comes up he will be ready to ditch his hideous pastel green alien face shell.

Re: Did Not Resurface..?
Update**
Patrice has resurfaced since going down on 8/11!!! I only caught a glimpse of him while a few minutes ago but he looks like he has gained some color. Thinking he molted..

Re: New UTH = dry sand
Actually you want to be careful when misting. You can mist to much and all that water goes on the side of the glass and goes below and will over saturate your sand in places then you can get mold growing. As long as you had your substrate mixed up.right before like sand castle consistency it should...

New UTH = dry sand
I recently applied a 6" x 23" Ultratherm to the back of my 20 gallon long tank. I insulated it to get proper temperatures around 82 degrees. The UTH is positioned about a half inch above my sub. I had a PP go down to molt/destress on 8/17 against the same wall the UTH is now on and it appears the UT...

Re: Question regarding Chia seeds
That's too funny! Luckily, mine have been too busy destressing and possibly molting to notice my new sprouts!

Crabinski: Whole foods is about an hour away from me. Soilentgringa: Thank you! I just put them in. One of my crabs is already munching on them! Lol! Do either of you know the difference between the black ones or the white ones? I bought the black ones bc all of them were black except one package t...

Re: UTH Sizing
I just ordered an Ultratherm from Bean Farm. After realizing the size I ordered will cover the entire back of the tank minus 1 inch, I've been wondering if this will lead to lower humidity and dry substrate. Do I need to swap sizes for something that will sit above substrate? And my hermies have bu...

Re: Did Not Resurface..?
Update- Patrice (E) is still under. If he is still under in 1 week, would we assume he is molting? Also, Juan Pablo (PP) and Marbles (other E) have just buried themselves as of this morning, seemingly in the same spot. Juan Pablo went first and Marbles soon followed. I can still see Marbles' shell a...

Re: 2-in-1 Water Bowl
I'm not familiar with the type you've named, but as long as it holds water, is deep enough for your largest crab to submerge, and you can provide easy ways in and out - many plastic, glass, or ceramic dishes work well. After that it just comes down to personal preference. Cool, just didn't know if ...

2-in-1 Water Bowl
I've got this lunch-type Tupperware container with a large side, a divider, and a smaller side. Does anyone see an issue with me using the larger side for fresh water and a smaller side for salt water? Both sides appear deep enough for my crabbies to submerge themselves.
