Is this safe for hermies?
I came across this tutorial for a natural-looking vivarium, and am curious if the materials used in this process are safe? Would this make for a good environment for them, or would they just tear up the foam stuff? Thanks! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iLDN9V3e3CY **edited to add- I wouldn't plan ...

Re: Can Hermits and snails live together?
Goodness, I didn't even think about the salt water, and how I've soaked all the porous stuff in salt water as well!! Wow, yes that would be disastrous!! Thank you!

Can Hermits and snails live together?
I'm in the process of cleaning out and redoing my crabitat, and was just curious if I can put our land snails (just regular garden snails, nothing fancy) in the same tank with the hermies after it's all put back together? They both require similar habitats, but I am unsure if the crabs would try to ...

Re: Flood? Bloom?
[emoji37] yeah, it smells! So at this point it is best to carefully dig up my molters and get them all outta there, right!? I know disturbing molters isn't ideal but in this situation it is best for them, right? Do I ISO the molters individually?? Thank you for your help!! Sent from my iPhone using ...

Flood? Bloom?
Hello, I had posted in the emergency forum about one of my crabs, and now posting here because I had thought my tank was flooded, by now after more reading I'm not sure. I have three killers right now so I want to make sure it is indeed an issue before I go digging them up! The sub has a lighter bro...

Re: Buried empty shell? Molting?
Thanks, I'm trying!! I am not sure what my problem is, there is always condensation and the sub is flooded at the bottom and always moist on top! I have moist air constantly flowing in from the humidifier, and it even drips sometimes from the moisture in the hose, so I know it's working. I could sme...

Buried empty shell? Molting?
1. What kind of substrate is used in your tank and how deep is it? About 70/30 Eco earth/play sand, approx. 7" deep 2. Do you have gauges in the tank to measure temperature and humidity? If so, where are they located and what temperature and humidity do they usually read? Yes, both- rear lefthand co...

Quick water question :)
Today I noticed one of my crabbies was "drinking" the condensation on the inside of the tank (scraping droplets of water with his little pincher then bringing them to his mouth). Does this mean something is wrong with the water bowls I have (placement, too deep, etc.), or was it just convenient for ...

Re: Naked, missing claw, can't seem to reshell himself
Look who's just come up, freshly molted and with a BP!! Is it normal to be a bit smaller than it was before? I am assuming it will be larger after the next molt?
He's now in the main tank with all his buddies!![Smile :)](./images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)

Re: White pincher?
Whoops. I edited the link, it should show up now. Just overall very pale, tan-ish legs and like I said the BP is white, not even a hint of purple. He seemed very active, so I'd guess it's diet related, too. Just curious if he was somehow a different species than the others, but it doesn't seem likely.

Re: White pincher?
I stupidly didn't take one. The coloration looked a lot like this: https://thumb1.shutterstock.com/display_pic_with_logo/3093914/464405663/stock-photo-hermit-crab-on-white-background-464405663.jpg But, it's body shape looked like a PP, not the stubbier legs or elongated eyes like in this pic. I will...

White pincher?
So, I am at Petco grabbing some supplies and I see a crabby in the PP tank with a completely white big pincher. Is this a very unhealthy PP in need of rescuing, an "albino" (is there such a thing?), or a different type of Hermie?? I've never seen one like this before. All the others that i could see...
