I had that problem too! I started using command strips and haven't had a problem since. They aren't the velcro/heavy duty ones GB recommends. These hold 8 pounds I think... I use the hammock as a shell shop in one of my tanks and as a moss pit in another tank.

Re: Ecuadorian leaves his shell for sea biscuit?
Wow!! I know they'll wear just about anything they can find in the wild due to the shell shortage or lack of finding proper shells. BUT I've never seen this in captivity! And if you didn't have a pic attached, I prob wouldn't have believed you. Wish I had answers for you... That's crazy tho! Sent fr...

Re: 29 Gallon tank question
29G measures 30x12x18 (LWH) 20L measures 30x12x12 (LWH) You can offer deeper substrate and still have plenty of climbing room left using a 29G... In a 20G once you add 8 inches of sub, that only leaves them with 4 inches of climbing/walking space. In a 29G, it would leave the crabs with 10 inches of...

Re: Reassuring my Crabitat
You confused me there for a minute... I'm used to seeing your name as fanatic. Nice improvement since we first met! If this is their forever tank, I personally wouldn't add anymore. However, if you're going to upgrade tanks in next year or two, adding one wouldn't hurt. Just make sure to dip any new...

Only add 1 inch per 24 hours and don't pack it down. This prevents tunnel collapses.Madi.crab wrote:Ok I will add some more play sand in on top of her so she feels safe and secure. Thank you so much for your help

Re: Attaching hamster wheel
So since it doesn't sit on the floor, how do the crabs get up into it? You put something in front of it like a piece of cholla or driftwood... Make sure the wheel still spins freely though. And you may have to entice them to use it. Like a treat or something. My babies took a few weeks before showi...

Re: Starfish
Starfish are often preserved in alcohol. I'd refrain from using it. But can't you get natural starfish? Like from a hermie food shop... You can get sand dollars and sea urchins. Edit: I was the one who suggested starfish in their other post for extra calcium source. It's on the safe food list if it...

Re: tank decor
CUT CUT Actually doesn't sound THAT difficult. Hard to imagine that duct tape can hold them together. Ya know, I thought the same thing especially having several jumbo's in this tank. I've tried myself to shove/move it and it doesn't give. But I guess the weight of the tank itself (or what's left o...
