Re: Could I get an E in these conditions?

Thank you!! I'll get a PP then, maybe in my future I can get two Es! Hopefully this PP is more active like Wolf.

And cool, mines at 99% too, the crabs don't seem to care too much so far haha.

Re: Worried about my new crab please help

He's probably trying to destress. When I got my two crabs one was active and shell changed right away. My other crab, however, dug down and didn't come up until a month later to change shells, he dug down again and stayed down for 2 more months.
He's incredibly active now!

Re: What are your crabs up to?

My babies are doing wonderfully! Their distinct personalities have come out! Rio is a super scardy cat who picks super large shells for her size, and the second I show her face she goes deep into her shell! Wolf, on the other hand is super curious, and will actually move towards me and scratch the g...

Could I get an E in these conditions?

Hey all! I recently upgraded my two children, Rio and Wolf, to a 20g. They are both medium purple pinchers (although Rio LOVES to wear shells twice her size). I always feel bad when one crab is under and the other isn't because then that means the one crab up is essentially living alone, I thought I...

Re: Moist play sand

A lot of people recommend Quikrete. It's not what I use, but I believe it should be fine. When transferring the sand though keep a close eye on it to make sure there isn't anything abnormal or any weird smells. Also check to make sure the bag isn't ripped somewhere. I've added new sand twice (when I...

Ordering Isopods / Transporting Them

Hi all! I was looking to get isopods for my tank. Only issue is my tank is at college and my apartment building probably wouldn't take too well to me shipping live bugs here. They also would prob kill them with rough handling of packages (its kids working the desk). My home though, is 40min away and...

Didn't look like anything in that thread unless they are larve of one of the things.
Will post the best pic I could get.
Got most out with Turkey baster but few still floating about.

HELP: EXTREMELY TINY WHITE BUGS IN BOTH WATER DISHES?

So I just returned to my apartment tonight after changing water like 2 days ago and there are very small bugs in the water!!! They are grouped together in bunches and are absolutely tiny and clear. I'm very worried what they could be and why they are in my water! Also, one of my walls of my tank whe...

Re: little crab moves into huge shell?

Thanks guys! My substrate is about 6 inches. Was about 7 before but compacted over the last few months.
One of my crabs was under for 2 months almost and just came up a week ago, my other went down for a week and came up two days after the other.
I got them at the end of november.

little crab moves into huge shell?

Hey! So I just got back from my 10 day vacation (roommate watched crabs, still hoping nothing serious went wrong that she's hiding from me). An hour before I got back she claimed she saw both of them but when I came in I only saw one, in a back corner. This crab though was in one of the LARGEST shel...

Re: Typical noise level of crabs?

Mine are in my bedroom and they do clank at night, one time Rio even yelled. But to me the sounds are actually more calming, I like to hear life and I like to hear them doing their thing. Actually helps me sleep and has yet to keep me up.

Re: HELP: Can large loud bubblers disturb/scare crabs?

Thank you a ton guys, once I added the valve my whisper pump has a low buzz and the sound in the tank is just bubbles. You all keep saying your pump is above or below the tank. Mine is on the same shelf as the tank. Is that bad? My tank is on a dresser (I'm in college) and everything sits there. Is ...

Re: Did I kill my molter!? Slight cage jolt (shove)

Thank you guys, that calms my nerves a bit.
And yeah my sand is good, if I stick my finger down and pull it up the hole stays.
Hope I see them soon! I miss hearing Rio at night.

Did I kill my molter!? Slight cage jolt (shove)

Hey guys I'm really worried right now. I have a molter who went down the day I brought him home, it's been over a week now and he's still down but tank smells like the tank should (so he's alive). However, the other day I stressed about my bubbler being way too loud and I wanted to put it on a stand...

Re: Can large loud bubblers disturb/scare crabs?

Thanks guys. I changed the bubblers to smaller ones and now the bubble sound is down a lot, however when I go up to the cage and listen it is incredibly loud in there. I think the sound is coming from air being pushed through the air tube. It's a low loud hum. I'm really scared I'm doing this wrong ...
