Re: Rolly pollies yes or no?
Hey I am thinking of getting rolly pollies in my tank I have a few questions before I get any though! 1. How to keep them from over populating 2. How to clean tank with rolly pollies in there 3. Do they eat hermit crab mites 4. Do they bother the crabs 5. Can I pick up some from outside and put the...

Re: So many isopods!
I put 2 damp pieces of cork bark in the tank and its working. I've banged it out 2 times. There are still alot more to get but its definitely a huge difference the crabs seem happier too. I'm gonna bang again tomorrow while I know I won't get every one. I have a solution to mass amounts of them. My ...

Re: So many isopods!
Hey everyone one of my crabs came up after a long molt. Which is great news that the isopods didn't drive him to death some how. He's healthy and colorful. I'm still missing the one but who knows now. I put the large piece of bark in the tank a few days ago. I'm waiting the week. To start banging th...

Re: So many isopods!
If you want to catch them all at once here's what you do: Get a large piece of rotting drift wood or sheet of bark (preferably damp, but not dripping) and put it in the tank. Wait a few days to a week then take it out. If it's done right then it would make the perfect habitat for the isopods and wi...

Re: So many isopods!
I finally decided to clear out the rolly pollies out of my tank. They have just bred like crazy and I haven’t seen some of my crabs in months and I’m worried they buried down and ate them while they were molting. Maybe they were just so annoyed those things have been everywhere they are hiding. Hop...

Re: random isopod??
I was changing out my hermies' food tonight when I spotted a small pillbug likely cleaning up some of the uneaten food, I'm really not sure how it got in there. should I try and hunt it down and get it out or would it be fine to leave it in as a small "clean-er upper" there was only one and it was ...

Re: Isopods in crabitat: yes or no?
I like my isopods, I was unsure at first and for a minute I thought “why did I do this!?” but once I got used to knocking off my decor into a tote once in awhile, it isn’t too bad. I think some people are ok with doing it and other people don’t like to. It’s not an easy thing to decide because once...

Re: Isopods in crabitat: yes or no?
I had a serious over population problem with mine! They were eating all the crabby foods before my crabs could eat. My crabs were annoyed with them. Then I had a bacterial bloom and lost them all. I won't ever have any isopods back in my tanks ever. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk I'm over popu...

Re: Isopods in crabitat: yes or no?
I've always thought it would be cool to have some pill bugs in there but now I'm worried that they will take over the tank and I'll never get then out. I was thinking about some dairy cows, maybe they wont take over as bad as some other species like the dwarfs. What do y'all think? Sent from my SM-...

Re: Adding Isopods to Main Tank
I regret adding rollie pollies to my tank. I literally put 2 in my 70 gallon tank which is like a natural terrarium and I now have hundreds in there now all over the place. I'm not sure if there is anything I can do but my crabs seem annoyed now. I wish I hadn't done it I try and see them as tiny he...

Re: Large crab attacked but other crab. Twice over shell
Clyde did not survive his last molt. He was completely healed. Such a shame after all his Been through. I don't know what went wrong but I know this time of year is hard for them. After everything he went through what a way for him to go. He will be greatly missed. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2...

Re: Large crab attacked but other crab. Twice over shell
Update Update. Clyde is doing well. His last molt weeks ago , he was able to start digging again. He's still quarantined from the rest. But he molted again last night. My husband and I leave for Michigan today, I figured let me put him under his coconut cave while we are away, BUT 2 days ago lol we...
