Re: 120 gal setup
Okay guys, I have some bad news. One of my Es didn't make it. It's not the one previously pictured (Rainbow). It was the one who was all tan and healthier looking compared to Rainbow (sorry guys never did get a pic of him)... I'm kind of in shock. This is the third crab I've lost since I began litt...

Re: need pics
Minor caveat: breeds are a function of selective breeding by humans, and no land hermits are extensively bread by people.. you should use the term species instead. If that isnt clear, here's an example: dog breeds all belong to the same species, Canis lupus. 'Canis' is the genus (and is capitalised...

Re: hermit & fiddler ???
As a temporary measure, try a large plastic tote. You want a clear one, and I'd get a big 'un. You do need to be careful about heating in the totes, not using a zoomed, probably... but you can drill holes anywhere you need, and that is nice. Fiddlers do need a filter for their water, and I've read ...

Re: hermit & fiddler ???
I've mostly read comments to the effect that keeping fiddlers with hermies is a bad idea - fiddler crabs are best off with a setup called a paladarium.... you'd want a filter for that. Itd be challenging to get the appropriate depth of sand for hermits without risk of flooding from the substantial ...

Re: all but one down should I move him
I would not move him. This is normal behavior for e's. They are very active. Digging & tunneling is normal. As long as you have plenty of substrate (minimum 6 inches or 3 times the depth of your largest crab-whichever is deeper), you will be fine. One crab per 5 gallons. I do recommend getting temp...
