Not moving above ground?
Hi! Bought 2 new crabs 2.5 weeks ago. One immediately went underground and has been there the entire time. I have read this is normal and may be destressing or molting. But, the other one has been hiding in one of the caves and hasn't moved in 2 weeks. I see her shell but she hasnt poked her head ou...

Waiting Patiently....sort of..
Well, I've had our crabs a full week and 1 buried right away and the other is in one of the hide-away holes and never comes out. Makes me a bit sad that I have all this stuff for them and they are still distressing (or decided to molt right away I have NO idea)... So every day I check my temps (80F)...

How common are the bug problems?!?!?
Well I just read the full post on the "what bug is that" and I am freaking out a bit! How often do people have trouble with bugs in the tanks? Our tank is in our daughters room, she is the one who has begged for the crabs, and it is next to her bed so I am now super worried. Anything I can do to pre...

Re: Food preparation question
On the same food topic, is it ok to buy some of these veggies and fruits and just freeze them until I am ready to use to I waste less? Some things I just don't eat so I am thinking that buying a bit and freezing extra would be helpful.

Food preparation question
Hi! Newbie here so maybe a stupid question. I have read through the safe foods and am ready to feed. Do I need to pulverize everything I give them or can I just dice it? So the list has oranges and broccoli. Can I just dice or does this need to be crushed to make it like paste for them to eat? I can...

Re: New and Confused :)
Thanks everyone for the comments. I'm good on the salt water and water bowls that info was clear and consistent in most forums. Lighting options seem to vary a lot from some saying no lights needed to 25w to 100w. I'll start with my UTH and see if I can get it warm enough in my tank. It is 15 gallon...

New and Confused :)
Hi! Looking to be a new crab owner this weekend and setting up crabitat. A few newbie questions for anyone with perspective. 1) I am confused on the lighting. I ordered a dual lighting system to allow for 1 daytime bulb and 1 moon glow bulb. Do I just buy a 25 w incandescent for the daytime or somet...
