Re: Woohoo! First molter is up!

I've heard from someone else that a paleness could be due to lack of proper nutrition. (Only if actually a white color). Some crabs are just not as colorful as others. [emoji6] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Actually come to think of it, the one who is "white" is more of a very light brown with...

Re: Woohoo! First molter is up!

He should start to gain his color back in the next few days [emoji4] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk He's going a nice shade of brown now. One of my others is just pure white. Doesn't matter whether he's just molted or about to molt, he doesn't have a great deal of colour. Sent from my SM-G950F ...

Thanks! Your advice a couple of months back really helped me (he got dug up and wouldn't go back down).

Re: Woohoo! First molter is up!

Yay! How big is he? Since Mid-May is a long time! I have had one down for three weeks and am finding it almost unbearable! [emoji21] Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk He's only small, slightly bigger than a large grape. He may have done a couple of molts while buried but I feel that temperature ...

Woohoo! First molter is up!

Two nights ago, I heard a tapping noise in my tank. I've been able to hear at least one crab moving around in the tank for a few days but hadn't seen any on the surface. Turned out that one of my molters who has been down since mid-May has resurfaced and is doing really well! Now just waiting on two...

Re: New additions!

When Slowpoke finished his first molt, he was quite a vibrant shade of orange which slowly faded to a creamy off-white over time. His big claw was still orange when I last saw him. Turbo and Pinchy are more brown with darker brown markings. If Turbo comes up a slightly off colour I'll definitely giv...

Re: New additions!

@Hermias_mom I did a quick makeshift ISO for Turbo as Pinchy wouldn't leave him alone, safe to say that he's dug down again! He may have just needed some extra protection to be able to dig again. How long should I keep the makeshift ISO tank in the actual tank?

Re: New additions!

Thank you! Pinchy has been showing interest in climbing all over Turbo in the last 10 minutes and I've had to separate them twice so I may have to ISO sooner rather than later. Rather be safe than sorry with this situation.

Re: New additions!

They all have such different personalities. I only discovered last night that Turbo has what I assume is a molt sac. It didn't look like eggs as the sac wouldn't be as clear, but maybe one day that will happen. I reckon gel limbs look pretty cool. It's so fascinating how these creatures regenerate l...

Re: New additions!

So it's been a little while and I thought I'd give you all an update. Turbo has been buried on and off over the past two weeks. Each time I had hoped it was for a molt but now I think it was just to destress. He's now coming back up on his own accord to eat, drink and run around. Tonight I have disc...

Re: Question about Ultratherm heat mat

The tank itself isn't missing any pieces; it's supposed to be a fish tank but there must've been issues in the design process. It would make a great fish tank but it needs some modification to make it a better crabitat. Might see if I can get a better piece of glass cut to the size of the top so so...
