Re: Moving tank to put on UTH

NCGirl19 - not to derail the topic, but I'm glad someone else's crabs poop in the shell Shoppe lol. I keep wondering if mine are trying to yell me they don't like the choices I offered. I'm also curious to find out how one would install a uth under a 300+ pound tank. XD Sent from my LGL82VL using Ta...

Re: CrabParent pic party?

The first pic is my E named Ranger, and the fourth from the top is the last E, we call him Hoss. Hopefully soon the three of them will have their own 40gallon, I'm in the process of setting it up.

Re: CrabParent pic party?

They love it! It was a dollar store find - sets that went with it has chairs, little dolls to play doll house lol. There's no metal in it, tho the front doors can be opened and closed.

Thank you! The second to last pic is my favorite - it's of an E named The Colonel. Lol.

Most inexpensive DIYs?

I wasn't sure if this belonged in the DIY thread, as I wasn't posting actual instructions... Some things I'm curious about... 1. I think some insulation might help my current 50gal breeder tank - what's the easiest and cheapest safe way to insulate? Tin foil? 2. In search of your favorite inexpensiv...

Re: Unresponsive Mall rescue...

I got a tape measure, and measured the outside, top, at the black rim. It is 36 inches long, 18 inches wide, and 16 inches tall. The online tank calculator I used came up with 47.6something gallons.

Re: Unresponsive Mall rescue...

What a great kid! (Man, I'm tearing up now...) As sappy as it is, I have been, too. I don't think I'll ever 'get over' losing Inqui kitty, or Jackson. (I still can't even hold another cat, without much inner turmoil and tears.) Having kiddo around helped... But with the place empty of fuzzies, we q...

Re: Unresponsive Mall rescue...

Sorry for your loss ... losing a pet is an ugly feeling. :( I hope your son doesn't take it too much to heart. Maybe if you try explaining PPS to him, and where they come from in the wild (if you haven't already). I know when I was young, learning about wild animals often made me feel better about ...

Re: Unresponsive Mall rescue...

An update on our mall rescue: Sniffed crabitat (where the ISO tank was being kept) this AM, no smell. Changed waters, including the ISO, turned lights off. Temp has been consistent at 82F, humidity 80-85%. Shut the room door to keep it quiet, stress free. Went about my day, eventually came back hom...

Re: Unresponsive Mall rescue...

Another update on our unresponsive crab: He's in a 1gal ISO tank, inside our main tank. No movement, no limpness to the point of slipping out of his shell, no stink. We have fresh and salt water in there, a cup in its side for him to hide in, and about 3" of substrate, and the main tank keeps the te...

Re: Unresponsive Mall rescue...

An update on our unresponsive crab - he's still all in his shell, but still unresponsive, limp-ish except for staying in his shell. I sniffed him, and tho he smells like the dried shrimp I feed the crabs, he does not smell foul. Unfortunately, I don't think it looks good for him. I added a bubbler t...

Re: Unresponsive Mall rescue...

I'm trying, tho most of those online offer sites have nothing at all in my area, as it's in the middle of small town Nebraska. Also, no one is currently molting. Tho a few pop up and down every couple of days, I know I've got 14 PPs (Mostly marble sized) and 3 Es, but yes. I'm doing my best. Sent fr...
