Re: Light and Heat Help
So here's pics. I hope u can see them well. It's attached to a piece of lexan. Plexiglass was too flimsy to attach it too. I used all mounting hardware except for the screws (I attached pics of these). Ignore the blue tape. It's the 12 inch substrate line... My UVB came from reptile basics. They co...

Re: Light and Heat Help
I love glass lids. I use UVB lights, which do not go through glass lids. I lift the front of the glass lids up for a portion of the day and prop them there for them to get the UVB. As far as heat I love the UTH's from reptilebasics.com beanfarm.com has them also. :) Heat lamps will cause glass to b...

Really? How much do you dilute the vinegar, and how often do you spray with it?aussieJJDude wrote:Or you could just use vinear for example.... I personally think it's a waste, but that's me

Re: Worm Castings
I saw it online on Walmart's website, unfortunately I can't copy the picture of it. But it says: "Product Title Earthworm Castings Soil Enricher Price $4.97 Pickup Only" so I am picking it up tomorrow, now that I have read GoButterflies reply, thank you :) https://us-i5.tb.wal.co/asr/8a1af7d7-769c-4...

Worm Castings
Walmart has a brand of worm castings that says it is organic and all natural, but then it also says that the form is granule. I am thinking they must have used something to make it granule. It says on the bag that it is OMRI certified. Does anybody know if it's a bad thing that it is granule?

If the crab you hope is molting is actually dead?
I can wait for a molting crab to come up for as long as it takes. But I am thinking that if the crab is dead, way down deep in the substrate where you might not be able to smell it, will he not contaminate the substrate and make the other crabs sick? If you don't know where he has buried himself and...

Hevea wood - is it safe?
I found a really nice coconut with a little wooden ladder on ebay. The ladder is made out of Hevea wood. The hut is meant for birds, but I think it would be great for hermit crabs. I have searched the forums for hevea to see if it is safe, but haven't found any info. Can anyone help me, please?

Re: The Sounds of Molting
Thank you, daws409. I will move him over when he decides to come up, and just have two tanks for a while. I don't plan on ever having more than three crabs, but I will of course get a bigger tank when the crabs get bigger. I also have little "shelves" with moss that they like to climb up in, so I am...

Re: The Sounds of Molting
Hi, I am completely new to hermit crabs. I have two small ones, and one just a little smaller than golf ball size. I have had them for two weeks, and I want to move them into a 15 gallon tank. The larger crab has buried himself, but because he still digs around down there and I can hear him make sou...
