Definitely I sat and watched them dig around and explore for quite a while

Re: New 30g finally set up!

Lovely! May I add a couple suggestions? Add some fake plants to give them more climbing space. Add a few more inches of substrate? It looks rather short. They need 6-8" minimum. And perhaps something to help them climb in and out of the water bowl? Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk Thanks for th...

New 30g finally set up!

I finally set up the 30g tank I picked up a few days ago. It's still a work in progress but I wanted to get it set up and move the gang out of the 10g so they have more room to roam. Cleaning a tank that was purchased used

I purchased a 30 gallon tank used off of LetGo. It was used for a turtle and it doesn't look like the tank has been cleaned in quite some time. It definitely needs a good cleaning because it smells awful. I was wondering if a diluted white vinegar solution would be okay to clean the inside of the ta...

Re: Second crab molters successfully?

He's eaten all except a leg and some pieces of the small claw. I'm going to dip him in the water and add him back. Is it okay to add the leftover exo to the food bowl in the tank? Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk Yes. I personally have never done that, but I have seen someone else say that they...

Second crab molters successfully?

I accidentally uncovered Draco while cleaning the tank a few days ago so I put him in iso with his remnants of exo and he dug down almost immediately . Well when I checked the iso a little bit ago he was out and about with normal coloring as opposed to the whitish color he was when I uncovered him. ...

Re: Moving with crabs

I'm going to be moving in 3 weeks I currently have two crabs down, one up and one that surfaces at night. I'm only moving 20 minutes down the road. My main worry is the molt tunnel potentially collapsing from moving the tank. I have a 10 gallon and I plan on moving it in the first car trip and stori...

Re: New Crab molt or de-stress?

The saltwater marketed for Hermit crabs is not marine salt water. It needs to be replaced. Marine saltwater has more trace elements and minerals that they need. Unfortunately 99% of the things marketed for hermit crabs is worthless. All a marketing ploy. Substrate needs to be the minimum depth all ...

Re: New Crab molt or de-stress?

My substrate is a 5 pound bag of sand mixed with one of the cocofiber discs, with a little bit of calcium sand sprinkled on the top( as soon as he emerges from his coco hut I'll get that out of there) . Half the tank is sand which is about 3 1/2 inches deep, and half that's about 6 inches deep which...
