Re: California Adopters

Hey all, I'm in the San Diego area and looking to take in some friends for my two small-med PPs (5 years and going strong!) in a 30 gallon tank with lots of climbing room and scenery. Temperatures are good here so would even be willing to help facilitate a safe ship. Hi there! I live in Orange Coun...

Re: temperature issues

If they seem more responsive at a lower temp, then I personally think its fine to keep them at such. Crabs have their own little preferences, and what works for one may not work for all.... thank you so much! that's how i was feeling but i wanted to make sure because i would never want to get my cr...

temperature issues

my humidity is always at least 80% and my temperature is typically around 80 degrees my issue is that my crabs seem to be happier and more active when the temp is on the lower side (closer to 75 degrees) and are less active, have less appetite, etc when the temp is higher (anywhere above 80 degrees)...

I replied with a D- I just received my shipment of new goodies!! I've already boiled the new shells, and I think I'm actually gonna place another order tonight, as some of them were bigger than I anticipated. D- when shopping for shells you have to pay attention to opening size. That's good you've ...

Sanitizing Tips?

I just received my shipment of new goodies!! I've already boiled the new shells, and I think I'm actually gonna place another order tonight, as some of them were bigger than I anticipated. I also got some fishing net, dried sea urchins, and sea sponges, which I'm not quite sure how to go about sanit...

Re: Water Conditioner Brands

7 years?! Wow! It stays good for that long? Mine says it expires in 2019...should I not be worrying about replacing it unless I'm out? Expired 3 years ago and I have not had any problems with it. I only use so little of it per year so I dont ever worry about it. Sent from my LGMS428 using Tapatalk ...

Re: Water Conditioner Brands

This is the stuff I have been using for as long as I have been crabbing. I think this might still be the first bottle I bought in over seven years. 6 drops per gallon is all it takes. At least thats what the instructions say. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170508/5220738f754a344ab8e659a3ae5ad0b...

Re: Water Conditioner Brands

You post some very good questions. Some of the information on products listed in the Care post you mention may be slightly outdated, since this post was last updated in 2015. I've been collecting data so that HCA can update this Care post, and I've already found one discontinued product and a few r...

Water Conditioner Brands

I've been using the TopFin Water Conditioner, which says "helps neutralize harmful ammonia, chloramine, and chlorine" and "helps remove copper and other heavy metals" *picture below* Now, first of all, I don't like that it says "helps" hahaha maybe all water conditioners have to say that so as to av...
