Looking for book(s) for my son
Looking for suggestions on a hermit crab book or two for my 9 year old son. He is an avid reader. Any books on proper care, cool pictures of different species, behavior, etc. would be great. Thanks in advance for the help.

Re: Climbing silicone sealant?
OMG, crazy crabs! Have a screen top. Are they strong enough to lift the lid to escape?? We are new to crabs and continue to learn thanks to you all. These 2 PPs came from a FL beach store and then I scrambled to make a healthy home for them. They immediately went under- one for about 4 wks the other...

Climbing silicone sealant?
Has anyone seen a crab climb the silicone sealant in the corner of the tank? My son just found one of his crabs clinging to the screen top. It is a mystery how it got up there. I am concerned because it was directly above one of the pools. The sealant is my only guess. ??

Re: Newer to crabs- UTH ?'s
I replied on the other not realizing it was a duplicate topic. I'll copy my response to this topic... You ...

Re: Newer to crabs- UTH ?'s
1" below the substrate is fine. You might not need a new UTH though. First, check your guages- of they are dial type, calibrate them. If it's electronic, put a new battery in. If it truly is an Ultratherm brand, you can insulate it with cardboard, insulation, or tin foil. That's one of the reasons ...

Newer to crabs- UTH ?'s
First thanks to the welcome and advice I received a couple weeks ago. Bought an ultratherm UTH but it isn't getting my heat up high enough- only 72-74*. Live in northern state so I know definitely won't be warm enough in winter. The next size up would cause the UTH to go below substrate about 1" or ...

New to the crab world!
Hello, I am new to the forum and have 2 new crabs that came from a beach store. I have now learned that is not the right way to acquire these guys but am trying to do the best for them. I am so glad I found this site and am learning the right way first time around. I did acquire (for free) a 20 gall...
