HCA: Hermit Crab Association

so it was a false alarm luckily... i’d still like to know though in case something ever happens again! super scary

can carbon monoxide affect hermit crabs and fish? we had to evacuate the house because ofan alarm. 911 is here now but im worried about them. i wouldnt think so, seeing as they both have gills and no lungs but i cant find anything online about it and im worried. plus the fish have labrynth organs.

ive had a crab get out before with stuff on the lid. and as ive said the 5 g is just until she becomes less aggressive towards my other crabs. its my largest spare tank. salt water, frash water, and food is supplied.

ive never had to isolate a crab before and have never had as much as an aggressive one, all of my crabbies are super mellow.

the sub is only 4 in deep at its deepest since i had to set it up on a whim and my mom threw out my old iso tank full of sand... kind of my fault, had fish water in it.

so i got a new E recently, and i named her pickleweed. so i checked her for mites or sickness and then popped her into my tank... she tried to go into molters holes and attacked my crabs. she got pinched by one of my crabs. so i seperated them and set up an isolation 5 gallon tank. i opened it and ....

what’s the fastest way to get rid of food mites? they were crawling all up in my food dish and there are a bunch on my wood

all of my crabs are small/mediums so there shouldn’t be an issue hopefully while i get another tank. i have multiple iso’s if something does occur
