You may want to get a piece of plexiglass cut for your tank top. I had one of mine cut at Michaels Crafts in the framing department. A 10 gal. would be an easy cut. When I setup my 2 tanks I put my heaters on the bottom to one side. My crabs are small so the substrate is around 4 to 5 inches deep. Thanks for the advice. I just don't want to poison my hermies and when my friend said the shells were bleached, I wasn't sure if boiling them would be good enough to make them safe to use. They are amazing looking shells and I am so lucky to have them. I'll boil them and pray that it's all they need.
