Re: Crab dying????
If you could answer the questions in the following link, that would help us help you better. http://www.hermitcrabassociation.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=46102 Although, right off the bat, the fact that you handle him often and keep him in a "cage" is concerning. They're prey animals who are bett...

Woah! Dead larvae in the saltwater.
My saltwater dish was looking pretty off-colored which is unusual. Even if there's a bunch of sand in it, it still stays pretty clear. I figured either they dragged in food or a bunch of rollie pollies drowned in it. Instead, I found lots of dead larvae! I thought they were just eggs at first but I ...

Is being unusually active during the day a sign of anything?
It started with my strawberries a few weeks ago. They eat, explore, use the wheel, etc. all hours earlier than they ever have. Like, I'm talking sometimes 1 or 2 pm and definitely awake by 5 pm. About a week ago, my jumbo PPs started doing it too and, today, I caught a small PP up and about at 3:00....

Re: Suddenly missing tip of leg?
And it's also normal that the wound is a dark gray? I dipped his legs in water to get the sand off to get a better look.
I've had crabs who came to me with entire limbs or segments missing but this is my first mid-segment loss!

Suddenly missing tip of leg?
Hello, Is there anything other than a fight that could explain the sudden missing of the tip of one of my strawberries' leg? Or was it probably a fight? The missing piece is very small, like not even the entirety of the leg segment, just 1/16-1/8" but noticeable enough because it's flat vs its usual...

Re: New Crab Owner and Clueless!
Quick thought on how to get the best use of your UTH: insulate it! If you search on here, there are posts about how to do it with cardboard and aluminum foil. I've never done it because I just went out and got this: https://www.homedepot.com/p/Reflectix-16-in-x-25-ft-Double-Reflective-Insulation-wit...

One of my jumbos molted for the 1st time in captivity!
![Image](https://i.imgur.com/YGHr5EQ.jpg)
I tried to keep realistic expectations when my jumbos went down in January, so I didn't think one would come up so soon (if they came up at all :/). But I'm so ecstatic that it worked out! Plus, he's clearly getting along with his tankmates.

Oh yeah, I offer him greens (collard and bok choy) everyday. He'll usually them 3-4x a week.

Need some bearded dragon advice
Hello, I know a lot of you have beardies and have had them for a lot longer than me, so I hoped I could get some advice. I got my beardie at the end of July 2017 so I estimate him to be 9-10 months old. The long and short of it is that he first started refusing calcium/vitamin dusted dubias but now ...

Thank you! ![Smile :)](./images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)
And, wouldn't you believe it, he's in a Babylonia as of tonight. I couldn't get a picture before he darted behind a piece of wood but I'll try later or if I see him tomorrow.

I got my E on Sept 2nd, 2017 and he was in a painted shell. https://i.imgur.com/qzUpFmS.jpg I ordered him a bunch of options and, within a few weeks, he changed into a cute little moon shell. https://i.imgur.com/q8ioJro.jpg He stayed in that for a few months and, then, one day, I found him in a gree...

Re: Questions About Feeding
We do have cholla! But they're incredibly spiky like a cactus until they die and I live in the middle of the city so I'd have to drive 30-45 mins out to the desert to look for some that wouldn't be potentially sprayed. I haven't seen any manzanita but I would suspect they're up further north than wh...

Re: Questions About Feeding
I went back and looked at my invoices for The Hermit Crab Patch and the shipping seems to depend on the weight of what you order. I've been charged as little as $4.10 and as much as $7.50. Another suggestion, if you have to stick to local pet stores, is that you can get a lot of freeze dried stuff i...
