Re: Instant Ocean
Thanks, you two. :) I'm struggling to find a small box like that on Amazon - I've found it at Petco and Chewy, but neither have free shipping. I'm hoping to get it from Amazon, because of the free shipping with Prime, but I can't find a small box for a reasonable price, and I can't see buying one o...

Re: Small pale crab, autotomy, molting, naked, non social!
I use all living things soaking salt and I feed my crabs a variety of things like carrots and kale - and regular oatmeal- suggested by a YouTuber- I mist the tank every two days and the average temp is 70-75. I can’t guess the humidity so I put Moss and I want to try to put a rag on top of the encl...

Re: Where to buy food
Thanks! I ordered the sub mix and oyster powder from thcp and it just came in today! Funny I saw the cuttle bone in Petco the other day and was confused if it was the right thing to buy since it was in the bird section. I guess you answered that question too! Lol thanks again :) No problem! I know ...

Re: Where to buy food
I need some kind of calcium I think too, since I don't have anything other than a couple egg shells and a oyster she'll as a food dish. Also, what is leaf litter and where can I get some? I have trees around but not sure what kind they are? I got a mix of leaves from the Hermit Crab Patch. It's lab...

Love it!!jclee wrote:When I went to go swap out some shells today, I found that it is also being used as a potty. A quick inspection found very little waste scattered elsewhere, so I am going to call this a win.

Re: Rescue advice needed
He doesn't seem to have eaten since I've had him. I diced up pieces of fish and apple without peels, but he doesn't seemed to have touched them. Also he might be eating and you don't notice. It was like that with my first guy when he was alone. I thought he wasn't eating until one time I actually s...

Re: How to keep the tank warm during a power outage
This just happened to me here in the Northeast USA. Our power came on this morning. It had been out since early Monday morning. At first I taped hand warmers to the outside of the corner where they usually hang out in their 20 gallon. I covered them with aluminum foil and taped it down. It kept that...

Re: Our first ponds.
I have also ordered one, I think they call it "flying saucer" wheel. It's flat, on a tilt though. I got it on Amazon for around $5. I've send pictures of crabs enjoying it. Have you seen those? Ours isn't here yet. I've seen those in the pet store and have been thinking about getting one, but I thi...

Re: Poop
That's what I use to spot clean the sub, too. Mine poop a lot in the moss dish, on their big tree branch, and sometimes in their water bowls. The tree branch seems to be their favorite place to do it, though. I have to shake it out every few days.Happyhermiehome wrote:Plastic spoons work good too!

Re: Normal Post-Molting Behavior?
Thank you. He was up again tonight, so maybe he just likes to be alone at times. I've only had them for a few months, so they're possibly still getting used to the new tank, like you said.

Normal Post-Molting Behavior?
Earlier this week I posted that my crab Dudley molted. He surfaced after 6 weeks under and I thought he looked really good. He was active, eating, and seemed fine. He's gone under again and has been down for a couple of days. He took a new shell with him. He'd been poking around the shells in the ta...

Re: New/Old crabber
Hello! Don't know if you have moss in the tank, but when I added it to mine it helped the humidity a lot.
