Re: Rescue advice needed
I think the Pavestone brand high desert sand is still silica play sand. I think it's just a finer grain lighter colored grade than the quikcrete play sand.

My crabs loooove banana at any stage of ripeness from green to brown lol. Banana rarely goes unpinched in my tank.

Walmart drives me nuts sometimes lol! I feel like going in there is like getting sucked into a retail black hole! Time becomes warped and twisted and nothing is as it seems or where it should be!

Re: Ceramic Heat Lamp for 10 gal
Agreed! Those things are basically like a small electric stove heating element coil coated in ceramic. In a tank that small it would be like an oven. If u need to use a lamp temporarily just use a regular 25 watt frosted household bulb. I use a 60watt in my 50g. Keep an eye on your humidity though. ...

Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G928A using Tapatalk[/quote]Thank you. It's nice and big. The inside part spins nicely. So I can put it right on the floor. But how do I attach it? https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20171027/42c3253707276fc7e9b4f055dadc6709.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20171027/1392fad...

You can boil it to sanitize it. You could use it as a decoration in your tank for hermies to climb around on. Some members have used larger shells as chia garden planters. Hermies really love chia sprouts and it looks neat in the tank too. I love that idea! I'm currently growing chia sprouts in the...

Re: Heating: UTH vs Bulbs
Maybe if it's been chilly it will be a few more days till it totally warms up. My house is very seldom below 70. I live in northern CA and its usually hot here lol but even when it's not I haven't had any trouble warming my tank with the lights and a snuggie when it's chilly. I also use a extremely ...

I wouldn't be overly concerned that he's not eating. They can go for months while they are under ground molting without eating and their appetites kind of wax and wane depending on where they are in their molt cycle. May also bee that he's still a bit stressed. Some crabs also prefer dry foods to fr...

What kind of thermometer and hydrometer are u using? Some times the analog dial ones can be really wonky and the the temp strips that stick on the outside are completely useless the only measure the temp on the outside wall of the glass and can't possibly read the inside temp accurately. If u are u...

Re: Rescue advice needed
U can drill some holes in the top for air flow. And when u open and close the lid for feeding etc. this will provide air exchange.this type of lid will actually help hold humidity in. Or u can check your local Craig's list or letgo cuz people give away 10gallon fish tanks for free or dirt cheap all ...
