Re: Crabitat Story: I've learned a lot...
Actually when I got my first crab given to me his tank had no heat source and I used a bendy desk lamp lol. It worked fine :) if u plan to leave it on at night though I would suggest getting a blue/purple night bulb. U can get one at Walmart in the pet section for like $4. If just for day time thoug...

Re: Starfish
Oh, this probably doesn't matter, but I have it more of a climb toy (don't worry, I have a LOT more) than a food source, but they probably would anyway. Even as a climbing toy they still will probably pick at it and eat it. I would not use it in the tank at all. I have a large chunk of unbleached u...

Re: Need Ideas [emoji258]
I use those plastic leafy mats on the back wall of my tank too and my crabs love them! U could put up a few more of those or a coco climb wall. Also maybe another hidey. I have one that I made out of a plastic flower pot from the dollar store I just cut a door into it with a box cutter and turned it...

You could try putting a blanket over or maybe a supplemental heat lamp.

Re: Safely installing fogger
U mean a diy humidifier like where u put bubble stones in a jar of water? That didn't work for me either! U can use the kind of humidifier that people use when they are sick with a hose that runs into the tank. I have one of these I made myself buy cutting a hole in the directional spout of a Vicks ...

What did it taste like?
If u want some ocean-y decor in your tank id suggest unbleached corals or sea urchin. They look neat and Crabs can eat them. they are a great calcium source

Re: Vermiculite and perlite safe?
I don't know about the safety but they may eat it so if u can't find a definitive answer I wouldn't use it And I think JJ is right, u don't really need it anyways if u are using course sand.

Re: Crabs aren’t very active
Does the claw u found look hollow or like it has meat inside? If it's hallow it may be that big bertha molted and didn't finish eating the claw and another crab brought it up or she may be sneaking up at night and brought it up. If it looks meaty inside this is cause for concern. she may have droppe...

Awww sorry :( You can also set aside unseasoned bits of your own dinner meats for them like chicken, ground turkey, beef and ground beef, pork, fish, shrimp tails, clams, canned tuna (in water only), sardines, pretty much any meat that u might eat they can have too as long as it's not seasoned and u...

Re: Live plants list
I had no idea pothos was crab safe! I just got 4 large potted pothos from my mother in law a few weeks ago. They are very easy to cut and root. I'd like to take cuttings and try them in my tank but I have no idea what kind of soil they've been potted in. Does any one know How many generations of cut...

Re: What plants are safe for my tank?
Idk about basil but some crabbers like to use air plants in their tanks. The crabs can eat them and they do well in the humid conditions...or so I hear. Also u can plant chia seeds right in your sub for crabbies to munch

Re: Can he fall?
I have this leaf wall in my tank and my crabs love climbing it and always fall off. I check them to make sure they are ok and they always are so don't stress Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk I use those leaf matts across the whole back of my tank and my crabs love them! I snagged a pile of them at ...
