Once the tank is cleaned out it is fine to reuse immediately. Crabs don't have communicable diseases that we know of. Sharing what I have and it works pretty well. My handy friend made it for me out of plexi glass. I made foil cardboard covers for whatever uses (trap moisture when I don’t have light on, etc). I really debated this as well because ghe 150 came with one across the back and the previous owners had several smaller UTH's attached to the sides of the tank. I'm an Ultratherm person 100% so I really considered whether or not I wanted the background, then an Ultratherm, then insulation OR Ultrat...
