Re: Tank too cool - best method to warm it up?
I will refrain from arguing with you because warm substrate often creates the molting area of choice. I will suggest what provides the best life of the crabs without causing problems in my experience. Caution should be exercised with electrical heat no matter what, which is exactly what I do. I've b...

Re: Humidity Keeps Dropping
As I've said many times aerator pools are the best method for consistent humidity.

Re: Tank too cool - best method to warm it up?
I use a UTH on the bottom of one end of the tank and a combination of heat bulbs on the other end.

Re: keeping substrate wet
Aerated pools are the easiest way to keep all your sand moist. An air pump, line, and air-stone keeps your humidity consistently above 80% and keeps the sand moist at the same time.

Re: Hide ideas for a jumbo?
I use a hollowed out suken pirate ship from my old aquarium. The side opening of it is so large it could definitely allow a jumbo to get through. So, check larger aquarium decorations as well.

Never had any issues before and I’m always checking on all of the accessories.curlysister wrote: ↑Thu Feb 25, 2021 10:20 amBetter an eyesore (which it really isn't) than a fire hazard! I would very much re-think the placement of your UTH.

Re: Best heating device for 20 gallon long tank?
If you insulate your tank (either over top of or around the UTH, depending on the brand), the temp in the entire tank will be higher, not just in one local area. You can also put a blanket or insulation over the lid to hold in the heat. Right, but then your terrarium is then an eyesore. Thankfully,...

Re: Are they fighting or?
For future note it would be best to take all of your above surface crabs and put them in a shallow pool of water together with any new additions for at least 10-20 minutes. I have a large glass bowl that I use for the aforementioned process, which is escape proof and solves any aggression problems.
