Re: Molting crab
I just got home for the first time since making this post and noticed she hasn't moved at all not even towards her exo. My humidity is a low of 77° and high of 81° and my temp is always at 73° i know it's low. I haven't been able to buy anything to keep it warmer than that. I put a shirt over the is...

Molting crab
Hermine is finally molting for the first time. I had to add water to the subtrate a few days ago bc it was getting dry and when I came across Hermine I put her back on the top so i wouldn't bury her. Instead of her going back down she decided to shed her Exo on the surface. I put her in iso with her...

The escapist
Hermine wants nothing more than to climb out of her habitat. She has escaped a few times. Lucky we keep a close eye on her so she doesn't make it far. I finally got her food figured out and she's been a lot more active. She is climbing on everything and testing her boundaries. Every time I put somet...

Looking for more info
So I finally was able to get a friend for Hermine the new one does not yet have a name. I was finally able to mix eco earth with sand to make the right subtrate. I got a climbing background but had to take it out until I can fix it because Hermine was stuck behind it tonight. :( Right now I still le...

Re: Worried about Hermine
I know they say the pellets are not good for them but that's what she ate before I got her so I thought I'd she was going to eat something it would probably be what she's used to. And I have done my research on the water and food she needs. When she dug herself under I thought she was going to molt ...

Worried about Hermine
I got Hermine over a month ago at the local flee market and knew nothing about proper care. I did a lot of research and got a 10 gal tank with over 6" of eco-earth. There is fresh and salt water. Humidity and Temp and ok. She burried herself right after i got her. I had moved her when she came up ye...

Possibly evacuating for Irma
Hermine is molting in a 10 gal right now and if we have to evacuate our plan is to visit family whom are 17 hours away. We don't have room for that big of a tank. Is there anything I can do to take her with me without putting her in danger?

Re: Please help I don't know what I'm doing
Thank you for replying. I've researched a lot on the website I've found it very helpful. I live close to the beach so I thought I'd have time to get everything set up since it's still warm here. I got Hermine at a flee market and after seeing how they were taken care of I wish I could have them all....

Re: Please help I don't know what I'm doing
1. What kind of substrate is used in your tank and how deep is it? -eco earth 4-6 inches 2. Do you have gauges in the tank to measure temperature and humidity? If so, where are they located and what temperature and humidity do they usually read? -no 3. Is a heat source used in the tank? If so, what?...
