Re: What are your crabs up to?
added some new shells last night to the tat before going to bed. heard the crabs all night clanking the shells around (their tat is in my bedroom), but come morning, no one took a new shell. guess they were all just (noisily) window shopping the shells haha!

Re: Um.... more 'foster' crabs...?
i cant wait to get more $$$ so i can get my 80 gallon up and running. christmas is just around the corner, and my pet shop just got in some hermit crabs a few weeks ago (first time in at least 6 months), so i'm sensing that very soon there's gonna be a lotta unwanted/neglected crabs in my city. as s...

Re: New from Northern CA
the location of the heaters on the tank also affect how good they are. with crabitats you're supposed to place them on the sides of the tank, above the substate line (despite the fact the instuctions will say they need to be used on the bottom). but since you're using zoomed, you cant remove them on...

Re: New from Northern CA
insulating really does help. just tape on aluminum foil (shiny side in) and then on top of that cardboard on three sides of the tank (just not over the heaters themselves, thats a fire hazard!). that's what i have to do with my tank in the winter. unfortunately i also bought zoomed heaters (thats al...

powdered peanut butter?
yesterday in the health food section of the grocery store i came across organic powdered peanut butter. the only ingredients in it are organic peanuts, organic coconut sugar, and sea salt.
is this ok to buy for my crabs?
has anyone else on here used a product like this?

Re: Adoption success stories.
i got my first ever hermie back in april. i'd thought about owning a hermie before, but always stopped myself from getting one because either the local shops in my town didnt have any in stock, and also because i knew they were a high maintenance pet. anyway, back in april i was randomly looking at ...

Re: What are your crabs up to?
so today i cleaned the walls of the tat, just so i can see into it without lifting up the lid all the time. and now my pp seems intent on mucking them all up again. leaving sandy dirty leg and claw marks all over the glass, all the while making a lovely (irritating!) scratching noise, not unlike nai...
