Re: Thrift shop score/lighting
Doesn't wattage usually Translate to heat by-product? I'm not sure what kind of lamp that is but it looks like a midsize incandescent tube what's that size T10? I would assume that excess heat is what you would want to watch for. Tubes are always good low wattage options they provide a lot of light ...

Re: UTH Sapping humidity from air
Calibrate your hygro yet? Theres no possibilty for "dry air" if your tank is fogged up??? !! Well something here is fogged up anyway. Im NOT extremely experienced but i have never heard of this problem yet. This is exactly what a uth is good for... NOT killing humidity. Something is not right??? Cal...

New Hygro Thermo worth looking at.
New hygro thermo. It was like 12 bucks on Amazon with some of the best reviews out of any of the products. I calibrated it and it seems to be the most accurate thing I've owned so far. Lots of people have those black and gray bricks from AcuRite from Walmart you can take the brick out of your tank a...

Re: New crabby adventures. 10 galllon tank.

And now we play the waiting game.... http://i63.tinypic.com/3swgo.jpg Im gonna start to worry and fret just lik...

Re: May be molting?...should I leave him alone?
Yes at least one buddy of the same species. 5 gallons of tank per crab for pp. I hear calcium sand can harden to cement when wet. You will need something like play sand. I found mine at depot. Mix it with coco fiber. I actually use long fibered sphagnum i found at depot as well. Play sand is nice an...

Re: May be molting?...should I leave him alone?
:) slooooow down. 1. Replace the calcium sand when an admin here recommends 2. Its good to just worry about keeping your crabitat dialed in at first and provide good food and water. After that try not to worry about your crab for at least 2 to 3 weeks or more! Thats because they will use all that ti...

Re: Aproved Building and Decor Products.
The HCA does not endorse any product. It never has. Members write reviews and share what works for them. Please never release a crab that has been purchased. They come from different areas and islands (though mostly Haiti) and are often exposed to foreign crab species during their warehousing. Rele...

Re: Hey There! I'm New and Old lol
Planning is good. I could have done that better... like made sure the sub level temp hum% heat lamp and all my decorations were sqaured away first and just the way i wanted. There was a little curve so good on ya. ![bigsmile ](./images/smilies/bigsmile.gif)
