Re: Cook grains? Or just put package?
Hi! Welcome to the HCA! :butterfly:: I use both raw and cooked grains. Mine like them both ways. Try to go for organic if you can. :) As far as bananas..also go for organic. A lot of times I just do banana chips :) So if it's not organic...bananas, apples...do the pesticides get inside of skin, dow...

Re: Is this conditioner safe?
I like this API conditioner: http://www.petsmart.com/fish/dechlorinators/api-tap-water-conditioner-super-strength-aquarium-dechlorinator-zid36-18142/cat-36-300031 The small 1.25oz bottle treats 592 gallons of water, 2 drops per gallon, and sells for about $5. It doesn't say that it also neutralizes...

Re: Size Differences
In most instances crabs of different sizes get along better than crabs of the same size since they are not competing for the same resources. However you can place a few hides so only the small ine can use those just so he can get alone time.. Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk Interesting. I have...

Re: Can I dry up wet substrate with paper towels?
Glad you don't haft worry about your moulter - that'd be stessfull! :) But yeah, the bacteria the causes problems is what is called anaerobic bacteria - meaning it lives where there isnt oxygen exchange... Normal aerobic bacteria is not a problem, but anaerobic bacteria can create pockets of gas in...

Re: Type of heater for 50 gal?
The thing about the ultratherm UTHs is that you can safely insulate them, which is what really makes the diference in heating efficiency. (Plus heat lamps can be drying, especially if you don't live in a humid place, so humidity might become a problem with lamps, though some people use them without...

Re: Attaching hamster wheel
Do you have a picture? Maybe I can help you brainstorm some ideas [emoji6] Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G928A using Tapatalk Thank you. It's nice and big. The inside part spins nicely. So I can put it right on the floor. But how do I attach it? https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20171027/42c3253707276fc7e...

Re: Attaching hamster wheel
Hmm... I'm assuming the green part spins inside the clear part. If you can remove the green part from the plastic part, you could drill holes in the clear plastic part and put zipties through them, the use them as "loops" to hook onto some command hooks. If the green part doesn't come off, then may...

I found a salad spinner at a thrift store and it looks perfect for a "hamster" wheel. Lol. I just have to figure out how to set it up.

Safe netting
I've seen on here to be careful with netting because of chemicals. I purchased netting from Hobby Lobby and it had a strong diesel? odor. I emailed the company that made it. This is their response: Our decorative net is genuine recycled net; it does not contain any chemical or residue. Water is used...

Re: Fabric?
burlap :) In regards to netting...I'm not crafty, I dont sew, knit, glue...or anything. I buy already made. So it seems like any netting I purchase would not be safe. I did buy netting from Hobby Lobby which I am returning today since it has a strong diesel (?) odor. You mentioned burlap. I have se...
