So you think it's possible that the crab that is alive is Magnus? I thought I was losing it because she definitely wasn't acting like Luna and I found her old shell empty and buried.

Changing gender?
Hi all, I was just wondering whether hermits can change gender. I have an odd dilemma about two of my crabs. A few months ago I found out I had four crabs instead of five meaning one must have died or gotten eaten or something (I cleaned out the entire tank just to check) I found the empty shell of ...

Are these products safe?
Hi all, I was just wondering whether the water dechlorinator and salt I'm looking at buying would be safe for my crabs to use. Thankyou in advance -Madi.crab https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190112/6ee74f24f596ba36974b42bd232e5e9d.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190112/122b40b3a85faa71d5bd8...

Re: What am I doing wrong?
Ok, what sort of salt should I use as well? I'll try to get some prime and salt with the proper brands online because I know they have it

Re: What am I doing wrong?
No I don't use a dechlorinator but I use bottled water to avoid chlorine in it. I will have a look at some other foods I can give them so they get a variety. Thankyou for your help

Re: What am I doing wrong?
Thankyou, I will look into getting better salt. I will also add more sand in as well. My crabs spend most of the time underground so I rarely see them.

Re: What am I doing wrong?
1. What kind of substrate is used in your tank and how deep is it? I use play sand in my tank and it is about 6 inches deep. 2. Do you have gauges in the tank to measure temperature and humidity? If so, where are they located and what temperature and humidity do they usually read? I have a humidity ...

What am I doing wrong?
Hi all, So I'm starting to worry that I'm doing something wrong with my hermits. I know I have the right conditions but I just can't manage to keep them alive. I really want to keep them alive but I don't know what is happening to them. I used to have 7, one came up half eaten one day, then one just...

Dead half eaten crab?
Hello, Most of my crabs have been buried for months in the tank and I figured they were ok underground, I had two come up the other night and they seem pretty happy (climbing and doing normal crab stuff) but then last night just out of nowhere half a crab just turned up from under the sand. It was t...

Bacterial bloom?
Hi guys, I have a bad feeling that there is a bacterial bloom in my tank and I’m not sure what to do about it. From the outside view of the tank the sand has small greenish patches in the sand. I herd that your supposed to immediately dig up crabs and relocate them but I have no extra sand in a cont...

Re: Pale molting crab coming up
Ok thankyou Update: he just changed shells. The new shell is still a bit small but he is a lot happier. Moving around, the only problem now is his leg. Is there anything I could do about it. Would it be hurting him? And do you think it's safe to let him back with the others? Sent from my iPad using ...

Re: Pale molting crab coming up
Also on one side of my tank the sand is really dry and I need to mix some water in with it to keep it moist but some of my crabs are buried. What do I do about that?
