Hemp won't really work. If you want a hammock, get a plastic one

Re: Extremely active and naked hermie!
Reshell him. Put him in a cup with some shells and try to put his abdomen in one. That always works for me. Good luck!

It's ok. My crabs didn't see treat for like DAYS and then I discovered a secret food cache! It could be that.

You don't need to change the sub that often but if you want to check on him then scoop him up and then try reshelling him with the cup method Sorry your hermit is streaking!

Re: Crabs constantly burying themselves, what's happening?
Yeah digging is normal but what I do to retain humidity is I mist as much as I can and keep the lid shut TIGHT. It does pretty well at 94-ish% humidity Happy crabbing to us all!

OMG. He's either destressing or escaped. I had one escapee stay lost for a week and then he crawled on my PLATE while I was eating lunch! But he could be instant molting. They do that when they're brought in from a bad home, so he should be okay! Fingers crossed for your little guy!

Re: In need of some advice!
Well, if you upgrade, don't necessarily buy more crabs. This leads to overcrowding and the crabs being unhappy. I experienced this firsthand with buying a five gallon for one, then then two, then three crabs and then I moved to my 10gal tank which I have now.
