Re: Is my crab sick???
Yes I will now, I was in such a hurry I didn’t even see it. He didn’t smell at all this past week but slightly does now, but I’m not sure if it’s from me putting water on him yesterday. He also is still not limp at all, if he is dead.

I also have a loft area they climb up and into with moss in it. 2. Do you have gauges in the tank to measure temperature and humidity? If so, where are ...

Re: Please Help My Tiny Rescue Find a Shell
The shell he was in was a japonica spirata. They do like turbos better. :) Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk Thank you, I'll remember for the future! He definitely seems to. I feel bad I had to take out his blue shell, as the turbo is definitely a lot heavier, but the blue was so chipped and wor...

Re: Please Help My Tiny Rescue Find a Shell

I was amazed he was totally okay with changing shells in front of me! He has always been very comfortable with people, i think he associates me and my boyfriend with bei...

Re: Please Help My Tiny Rescue Find a Shell
He prefers something about the painted one. It's size, shape, or ect. I know sometimes a crab with adjust the inside or "modify" it. So he may even spend some time between the two. Try and get a shell as close in size, shape and type to his current one. He seems to be checking the turbo out again n...

UPDATE: I am sooooo happy! I purchased some green turbo shells today and added them into Herm’s tank and after about two hours he has changed into one. He seems very happy and I’m glad he’s finally out of the shell he was probably forced into! OH MY GOSH EVERYONE. I AM SLIGHTLY UPSET. I didn’t take...

Re: Please Help My Tiny Rescue Find a Shell
Hello there! I'm brand new here, and was wondering if someone could help me. I rescued my Hermit Crab, Herm, from our town carnival in June 2017. I saw him in a bird cage with a leg broken off, and remembered reading that hermit crabs needed sand or substrate to burrow into to molt and fix themselv...

Re: Hello! I'm new here.
Hello :) I just wanted to say welcome to the HCA! Also, I recommend that you get your humidity to at least a minimum of 80%. Hermit crabs have modified gills and need the humidity to breathe. :) I'm well aware of the modified gills, which is why i keep it at 75%. I was not aware that 80% was the mi...
