Re: Lid

Hello, We are a new hermit crab family. We were given a hermit crab with very poor instructions and a horrible crabitat! :( I am so glad to have found you all!!! We love this hermit crab already and want to set up the best environment. We were given a "hermit crab starter kit" that was a cage and h...

Re: Best Programmable Power Strip Timer?

I use the regular ones, and I have bought a couple of zoomed ones that were on sale (heavily discounted). Both have worked great! I have had regular ones fail, but they are cheap enough to replace! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Nice, I'll keep those in mind. I just got a digital one by GE appl...

Re: Best Programmable Power Strip Timer?

It moves around just like a clock, with the current time needing to be set by spinning it to where the arrow is. There is something at that arrow where the tabs physically click the supply of power on and off as they pass it based on if they are set up or down. Cool, I figured as much, I'm guessing...

Re: Best Programmable Power Strip Timer?

I just use the ones found at hardware stores! I am not sure if they make them in 15 minute increments though, mine do 30. Analogues can't really fail, you just pop up and down the little tabs according to when you want it on. I even have one I dropped and lost a few tabs on, and it worked fine once...

Best Programmable Power Strip Timer?

Hello, I recently bought a zoomed repticare terrarium controller and it was faulty, after reading some reviews about them ans several other brands, I found all have their quirks. The programming is no problem I just need one that actually works. I just want to use one to control my fogger, 15 mins e...

Repticare Terraium Controller Questions ???

Hello, I'm wondering if anyone on here is familiar with this product. My specific question about it is if the timer actually moves like a traditional timer or if it is supposed to remain stationary at the time you set it to. Mine doesn't move and I'm wondering if it is faulty or not, the switch is s...

Re: Hefty storage container as a topper?

So I realized I did some measurements wrong... and have like 3 inches left of my 40b for climbing... *big ole sigh* So I was wondering if I could use a storage container as a topper as tanks get expensive. Probably hold it down with Velcro or something. Would this be a good idea? I've tried this co...

Re: Day and Night Heating

I am new to crabbing and recently acquired two new crabs. They are heated by an 8 watt UTH on the side of their tank. The warm side stays around 79 and the cool at 72. Do I need to leave the heater on at night, or turn it off for a good temperature drop? Does it even matter? Hermit crabs are cold b...

As an aside, I’ve found that crabs seem to not be incredibly fussed about human gendered naming conventions :D
Lol, yeah guess they don't really mind.

Re: New to HCA

I'm late to the party...but welcome to the HCA! :butterfly:: Edit: What type of light is that on the side of your tank? Thanks! It's a moonlight heat lamp, I forget exactly what brand and what wattage, seeing as I've had it for awhile and no longer have the packaging. However, it's supposed to be s...

Cozy crabs!

Two of my crabs, Hermie and Ernesto, chilling on some chola! I havnt actually determined the sex of my crabs yet, so I may end up with some name modifications, but these two in particular seem very fond of one another, always together. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180217/161f370cee5c32291c2b8e...
