HCA: Hermit Crab Association

I've been to two PetSmarts recently, and neither of them have had any crabs. They have the spaces, but nothing was in them. One of them I go to often because it's near the school I teach at, and it's been many months without any hermit crabs in sight.

When I got my crabs, 3 of the 4 originals died. One literally went into the crabitat, buried and was dead within hours. The other 2 took a little longer, but they ended up dying as well. I order all of my shells from there as well! I was going to order some turbo shells but they sold out right before I went to check out haha

I had a small crab that I believe was molting but my other crabs must have eaten him as I found his shell empty and I couldn’t find him anywhere. My concern is how to prevent this from happening? Then again, I didnt even know where he went down so I couldn’t have dug him up even I wanted to... Not t...

I got my E at PetCo. They are few and far between though.

Other than my little E Santiago, all my crabs are hiding / doing nothing!! I have one named Clyde who hasn't moved in days. They are all so lazy :lol

I have some plants he likes to club in but now I caught one of my PPs digging too haha!
And the E is crazy, he climbs on everything, sometimes upside down and his shell is too small that he can’t evenfully go into it lol. He’s a mess! Haha

I never was using a heat lamp. It was just the light from the tank hood.
But I switched out the bulbs to LED insteda of incandescent and now the heat and humidity are much better and more stabilized!

Oh gosh, a wheel? Lol Santiago is my favorite crab, the other PPs are all sleepy and don’t do much haha. I will have to find something to keep him occupied and redo the tank today because it’s such a MESS now lol

He's the only one that I've ever had in my years of PPs and was got by chance at a PetCo. I've never had this digging problem before haha

Is this normal behaviour? He's never done it until recently.
What can I do to make him stop? Should I get more things to climb on?

I changed the lighting and now have on LED and one incandescent and the temp is 79 and the Humidity is 72!
I really want the Humidity to be higher and add more Eco Earth, but one of my crabs is now MIA and I don't know if s/he is molting so I probably should wait to see if s/he comes around.

It's probably the substrate. I am probably not using enough Eco Earth.
usually I do a clean on Tuesdays, so I will add more Eco Earth! Also my lights are incandescent, I have some of those LED ones, I will swap one out and see if that changes anything!

I have a UTH not a heat lamp. I just mean when I turn the light to the tank on it heats it up into the 80s but the humidity goes downhill. So now I end up misting a couple times a day
