Re: Did he molt?
It would be borderline impossible for a crab of that size to molt that quick. Tiny crabs can do it, but big guys normally need a lot more time to get through the physical act of loosening, shedding and hardening. Does he have sharp black toe points? They would look like skinny mechanical pencil lea...

Re: No winning on heat and humidity
LED lights don't give off heat. What kind of heaters are you using? If you have ultratherms, they can be insulated. You can use reflectix tape over it and around your tank. If you have a different brand heater, you can insulate the tank around the heaters. As insulation you can also use cardboard w...

No winning on heat and humidity
Trying to get my temp in the tank above 80 since I have 4 e's in with my jumbos. Humidity seems to stay fairly steady between 70 and 80. Its reading 90 because it was laying on the sand. Crabs knocked it off. I ordered some led lights to put in the tank so hoping that will help solve the issue but I...

Re: Saved 9 jumbos this weekend
I just wanted to mention that if you would like to keep your shells cleaner longer, do not put things on the bottom of your shell shop that will fill the shells. I personally use cocofiber mat on the inside of mine. This way the crabs have something not the bottom (it isn't just a plastic basket), ...

Re: Saved 9 jumbos this weekend
Well almost done. Have cholla wood and more plants arriving next week. Re: Saved 9 jumbos this weekend
I've found Richards shells often stocks larger openings: mention that they're for hermits and let him know what size you're looking for (I think his measurements tend to run a wee bit large, but not by much). Shells with carved stripes & pearlized shells are popular because they're lighter. Also wa...
