Re: Question on UTH
Also, 65 is too cold. I would get asap, 70 is really the lowest they should get, and even then I imagine they are uncomfortable..

Re: My new fogger
False bottoms are hard and can be dangerous, as crabs are crafty little buggers and can get underneath even really well built ones. They are doable, but I have been to scared to even try. I'm not saying foggers are bad- it just did not work for me. I put the hose above my water bowl and woke up with...

Re: In case of power outage in the winter?
I have tupperware containers ready, trying to figure out the logistics of attaching the hand warmers, I guess tape?

Re: UTH brands recommended?
Can they both be reused? I will be upgrading to a larger tank, but that could be several months possibly.. maybe even after winter.

Re: My new fogger
I would suggest the under the tank heaters, on the side of the tank, and plexiglass! I have been exactly where you are now, and that is what solved the problem for me. It depends on which heating pad you get, but if they are weaker ones like zoomed, then get the one that will span the entire back of...

Re: In case of power outage in the winter?
Yeah got that, and hot water bottles, and insulation. I am looking for any other obscure possibilities. I have only lost power once, but it was out for many blocks of my city for several days, so in that case, I would need hundreds of hand warmers possibly.

In case of power outage in the winter?
Anyone have any ideas for possible power outages? I am going to get a bunch of hand warmers, like a Bunch, just in case, and reflectix, and big fluffy blankets, and water bottles. Lol, can you tell I am paranoid? Any other ideas? Anything is welcome, short of a mini generator because that is a bit t...

Re: Room Sprays
Try to close the door when the hallway is sprayed until it all settles, maybe?

Re: Room Sprays
I would be very careful about that if you can, especially clove oil. It is an insect repellant so odds are it is very irritating ro the hermies.

Re: My new fogger
Yeah, I loved mine at first, I just did not think about what would happen if I ran it constantly lol. :) They can also be pretty useful in the winter! The plexiglass I use keeps my humidity perfect. I only spray it now to keep it sand castle consistency, my humidity is never low. I had to get a fogg...

Re: My new fogger
Fogger can oversaturate the substrate and cause bacterial blooms, so at the very least they should not be used constantly. I tried a fogger and the sand definitely got too wet and took days to dry out, and when the fogger was off my humidity was on the lower end. Best thing I ever did as far as humi...
