Thank you!! Yes I have found some shells for when they're a couple months onto land, but I hadn't been able to find those really ridiculously tiny shells. The whelk shells look perfect!

Under the tank heater, placed on the side of the tank above the substrate! Plexiglass or saran wrap on top holds in heat and humidity. What dechlorinator are you using? Seachem Prime, which is what it recommended by many here, is two drops per gallon. And you put the lid back on and shake it up really well. At least, that is what I do.

May be that the safest thing to do is remove the plant. Crabs are weird so I can't say I know why he is doing it, but I have had the same things happen and my crabs diet definitely meets the nutritional requirements lol.
