Awh! He’s like a lil human! It’s almost like he has the concept of pajamas and daytime clothing.

Yeah, Setae!GotButterflies wrote:I’m sure I’m not spelling it correctly but the hairs are called something like seate? Those hairs help carry water to their mouths

Re: Something wrong/on joints of adopted crab?
Really not sure if emergency here or not, but thought I'd post a pic. Adopted a hermit crab that seemed to be doing well. The last few days haven't seen his usual activity and while checking him out could possibly be an issue. I'm really not sure as my other crabs are much smaller than this guy, bu...

No Crabs Up!!
My crabs went down to molt sometime this summer. When I left in May, there was 1 crab up, due for a molt. I returned in August and there were still no crabs up. I’m not sure if I should dig and check on them, or if I should leave it alone.

Bombing Home: What To Do With Crabs?
You can have an immaculate home and still have insects move in. German roaches will come anywhere they have access to moisture and will eat drywall, glue, book bindings, and are attracted to electricity and electronic devices. There are spider crickets and actual spiders as well, eugh! Sent from my...

Re: Bombing Home: What To Do With Crabs?
I'm not sure that it's the hermit crabs attracting insects. But I would agree with sealing off the tank really well if you are going to use any type of chemical. I’m not sure where they’re coming from, agh! We keep our home extremely tidy and clean. There are even some around and in the tat. Sent f...

Less Than 24hrs Before Extermination
I have less than 24hrs before a pest control company comes in to rid the insects and spiders that have made their home in my home. There are quite a few in the crabitat and I have crabs underground. If we don’t get what’s inside the tat, they’ll just remain here! What should I do?? Sent from my iPho...

Bombing Home: What To Do With Crabs?
Hi again guys, I’ve returned!! My crabs are okay, except they’re attracting every kind of insect you can imagine into out home and even into their tank! We desperately need to bomb the house and I have crabs underground. :( What should I do with the crabs? We are infested with everything! The insect...

I use a mix of Play Sand and Eco Earth, 6.5” deep. I have 3 crabs now, two medium and one tiny.curlysister wrote:I'm sure you have answered this somewhere else, so my apologies for asking again.
What do you use for substrate? How deep? How large and how many crabs do you have?
