Re: It’s not the same

Go to the adoption page here and I'm sure someone will adopt your 3 PPS. We rescued 11 back in January and will be adopting Mary's babies in July. We are maxed out at 5 tanks. They do take a lot of work and I think it's great that you want to re-home yours. My husband Motorcrab posts about Eddie al...

Re: It’s not the same

I am in the same shoes, except for rehoming my crabs. Ever since I confirmed my E died, I have not been on HCA as much, and it seems like my crabs have noticed, lol. I wait an extra day to change food and water and my crabs are moving less, but they are still relatively active. He didn’t even last ...

Re: It’s not the same

We were very fond of our Es. They are different. It's their personalities and attitudes. We are trying desperately to save the last one. They are exceptionally rare in our area. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk I’m glad I’m not alone. He was just so special, I wish the best for your E and I hope...

It’s not the same

Hi guys. It’s been a long time since I posted. The last time I did my beloved E died. It’s been hard and I’m still sad over it, I miss him a lot. I still have my three PP’s but I’m looking for someone to adopt them, I’ve tried my best and I know this sounds terrible but when Biggie died my tank feel...

Re: Wild Hermie found!

The only location for land hermit crabs in the United States is the very Southern part of Florida. There is anecdotal evidence that they may be native to the Southernish coastlines of the main landmass, but officially they have only been recorded in the Florida Keys. There are no land hermits nativ...

Re: Wild Hermie found!

Is the crab indeed wild? In other words, are they wild where you live? If so, it should stay in the wild. No I live in Texas. It’s much too hot and dry for them. My guess is it molted and now it’s back up. It’s a female purple pinger and she seems to be adjusting well. She’s destressing underground...

Wild Hermie found!

Hey guys so wild story, my younger brother had hermit crabs six months ago and one died and one randomly disappeared. Out of the blue my mom just called me and the neighbors found the hermie in their garden so my mom is bringing it to my house because I can properly care for them. I’m going to put h...

Re: Please help my E died

No, only done once when we got a 20 gallon. Reading more in the emergency section I see a lot of people say crabs hanging out of shell might not be dead? I’m honestly just anxious because I don’t know what to do. Do I bury him or give him time to see if he makes it? He was perfectly fine this mornin...

Re: Please help my E died

My boyfriend noticed he was halfway out of his shell, I didn’t really inspect him because I’m crying too much. It sounds silly but he was really special to me

Re: Please help my E died

I have an automatic mister so the substrate is always very damp. It could very well be the water, I should have been dechlorinating it

Re: Please help my E died

I have suspicion he was stuck inside his shell. He had a painted shell when I got him and he seemed like he wanted to change. I’m not sure if that would have killed him but just an idea

Re: Please help my E died

Sadly, Big Worm has officially passed on. Here is the template anyways. Thank you so much for the help, this is pretty tough on me 1. Substrate used? Eco earth and play sand 2. Humidity % level in crabitat? Mid 70’s 3. Temperature of substrate in crabitat? Not sure 4. Temperature of crabitat? High 7...

Re: Please help my E died

I’ve had him for three months and he’s even had a successful molt. I’m really worried and he seems to be alive after closer inspection but I’m just very worried about him, he makes me so happy even if he’s just a crab. My other crabs are really docile and they’ve always gotten along with him. Could ...
