Re: Is being unusually active during the day a sign of anyth
I'm a newbie who just set up her crabitat a couple of days ago. The crabitat is located in a darker corner of the room. For the first day the crabs stayed in their hidey hole and refused to come out, even at night (at least before 11 pm) Then today I installed an overhead led light. Within an hour, ...

Re: Double-dish bubbler pics, yo!
One thing I haven't read about in this thread is the importance of using check valves on your air lines if you're using a bubbler. Check valves prevent water from siphoning back through the air line into the pump in the event of a power outage or shutoff. As long as your air pump is above the level...

Re: When to offer food, and for how long
I usually give my crabs access to food 24/7 because they like to snack at all hours. If you’re having trouble with rotting food, try dehydrated ones. When to offer food, and for how long
I'm not sure if I should leave food in the crabitat 24 hours a day, or take it away during the day? My apartment is prone to getting a lot of fruit flies and gnats because it's next door to the garbage chute, and a lot of slobs just leave their garbage lying beside the chute. So this morning ...
Re: Poop
I have a wide range of pets, like birds, cats, dogs, guinea pigs, rabbits, fish, reptiles. All are indoor pets. I think I'll just offer them rabbit poop, less smelly and buggy and I know what's in it.

New crab owner with a few husbandry questions
Hi, I just bought my first crabs yesterday after a bit of a saga trying to find some! It started a couple of weeks ago when I saw an ad in the local classifieds, a girl going off to college was trying to rehome her two crabs and equipment. I thought I had made arrangements to adopt her crabs, then s...
