Re: New second level
A little bigger than I anticipated. Had to make some adjustments, and I did put the “legs” in first than set the base on top. Definitely easier but took some finagling. No one used it yet, hopefully still exploring their new surroundings. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20191015/4c6aa4927b0495bc1eb...

New second level
Here is the second level that I have been working on. I wanted more room for the moss pit, which will sit just above the platform, also to put shells up there. This will give them more room to hide as well. I took aussieJJDude’s advice and extended the legs so they go to the bottom and the platform ...

Re: Egg crate
I’m making a second level out of PVC and I’m using the egg crate as the floor. I was going to put some coconut fiber on top because I as well was curious if they would have a problem walking on it. I have a narrow strip extending out that I was going to attach a net to it as the floor, but again, wo...

Re: hammock
I bought a corner hammock as well as a larger net. None of my crabs have ever used them. I also have a hanging artificial grass wall. I climbed it once and never used it again. I’m going to redecorate so hopefully they’ll use them.

Decorating idea
Thank you for the comment.
I wasn’t planning on burying it. I want to add a little more substrate to the tank and thought I might put the new substrate over the bottom portion so I wouldn’t disturb any tunnels that might be below.

Decorating idea
Would love some feedback and opinions on an item I made for my crabitat. (Hopefully I can upload the pictures correctly) * opinions on design * advice on introducing item to tank I have, I believe, a 55 gallon tank with 5 PP’s ranging in size from medium to small. Right now there is a small hut that...

Plexiglass question
Has anyone used plexiglass inside their tank? I have a corner shower caddy I use as a moss pit. With the slats in the bottom, the moss dries out and fall out of the pit. I was thinking of cutting a piece of plexiglass to cover the bottom(zip tie it) so that wouldn’t happen. Any thoughts?
Thanks!!
Thanks!!

Question about PVC
I’ve read that people use PVC in their crabitats. I want to use PVC for a second level.
My question: what do you do to prepare or treat the PVC?
I was thinking about using a fine grit sandpaper to get the coating and dirt or whatever off before placing in the tank.

Rearranging decor
My question... Can I rearrange the decor with the crabs still in there? I have 5 crabs but really only see 4 at a time. I really don't want to stress them out. Also, just thought of another question... I'm currently at the beach and have been collecting shells to use as feeding dishes and other thin...

Re: New Ultratherm design?
I purchased the ultratherm from reptile basics. It’s been chaotic in the house here due to holidays and Birthday’s lately so I didn’t check the messages. I actually attached it before I read your post so I don’t think I put the gold/bronze side in. It seems to be working okay. It seemed to fit bette...

Re: New Ultratherm design?
I’m in the process of setting up my new 55 gal now. I ordered a 11X35 ( which was a suggested size from the site)and it came in a strip. I ordered mine about a month ago. Not sure if they had changed designs. The pamphlet that came with it mentiones mats and strips. Since we are on the subject of th...

Re: Tank options
Exo Terras are great tanks! You just have to customize it for the front by adding a piece of glass or plexiglass so that the substrate can be higher and you can still open the doors. They also can be very costly. You are best to look for a used one. I use all my exo terras as toppers, and picked th...
